Barbara is a lively Italian restaurant inspired by the rustic tradition of Roman pizzerie, opening in San Francisco’s historic Italian district of North Beach in September 2018 to serve as the neighborhood destination for casual dinning. We feature an energetic open kitchen, creating fresh takes on classics as well as original inventions showcasing seasonal and local ingredients, transporting taste of the eternal city to San Francisco. Food was good. Felt a bit rushed to order which i didn’t like. My friends were mid way through their last bite, and they took his plate immediately (rushed). Overall, felt rushed and didn’t feel personal

We were seated at 7:40 p.m. despite having a 7 p.m. reservation. The pasta was overcooked, and the pasta sauce was cold and dry. To make matters worse, the music was so loud that I couldn’t even hear the person sitting next to me.

Food was fine, actually better the second day. I ordered the burrata and pesto pinsa. It got cold by the time I ate two pieces, probably because the door was open (hooray for airflow?). Might be better to serve it on a plate that holds heat better? The congealed cheese was not great. Mocktail options were just regular cocktails with the alcohol omitted, so I didn’t order one. Get some NA alcohol, it will help. The noise level was intolerable. Would consider getting takeout, would not consider eating here in person again.

Hate to reveal this BUT the pizza crust was unbelievably wonderful crisp and chewy ! All pastas (4 ordered ) cwere outstanding !

The food and service is always good. The background music was a bit loud throughout dinner. The time when it was loud and should have been loud was when we celebrated a birthday which was really fun. In general the music could be brought down a touch

The food was delicious and the service during the first part of our dinner was great. Unfortunately we were rushed out right at closing time, with one of the workers coming to the table and stating “we have to go home”. This was only 15 minutes after closing when we were finishing up food and a bottle of wine.
