Recommended in the MICHELIN Guide for California 2021-2023. Located in Oakland’s historic Grand Lake District, Bardo is a neighborhood lounge and restaurant inspired by the comfort and camaraderie of a mid-century dinner party. Drawing on the celebration and elegance of old school entertaining, we envisioned a space for friends and neighbors to enjoy amazing food, cocktails, conversation and great music.

Our lounge is a swank living room, furnished with hand-picked finds from antique and vintage markets from Palm Springs to Portland. Our mezzanine dining room features a rotating menu of fresh, seasonal supper-fare with local and sustainably sourced meats, fish and produce. While we think the food, drinks and atmosphere are all great reasons to visit us, it’s the relationships with our friends, neighbors and guests that is the driving force behind Bardo.

A pleasant dining experience We had a nice evening at Bardo Lounge & Supper Club. The venue has a great atmosphere, and the service was fast, friendly, and attentive. The food and cocktails were enjoyable—well-prepared and flavorful, though not particularly exceptional. One standout aspect was how accommodating the staff were with our 4-year-old, even though we arrived at 9:30 pm—late by American dining standards for a young child. They made us feel welcome, which we really appreciated. Overall, it was a pleasant experience with good food, great service, and a warm atmosphere. While it may not be a standout culinary destination, it's a solid choice for an enjoyable night out.

Food and service was spot on…. Great vibe, wonderful atmosphere. Wait staff was attentive and friendly. Definitely worth exploring more when the live music comes back next month.

We had such an amazing time! We ordered the Dinner Party Menu, and it was a perfect mix of everything. All of the food was absolutely delicious, and we scraped every single plate. We also really enjoyed sitting at the bar, and Anthony, the bartender made us some fantastic drinks based on our preferences and what we were eating,

Food is screaming good, from the shareables to the mains. The wait staff is on it; they know the menu, so if you have questions ask, want a recommendation ask. It’s a small menu all of which is done well. Oh & do not forget the dessert, amazing, scrumptious must leave room for. New favorite place!
