   Ambiance: 10/10 We loved the vibe of the restaurant and people in it. Views are beautiful where 2 of 4 walls were glassed views of the bay. There was a good mix of age groups although leaning more into a 30-40 year olds the night we went. Ambiance was lively but not overwhelming so people at the table could talk. Food: 8/10 Oysters- 10/10 “Clam Chowder” - 8/10 - BUT it is not a typical chowder. It should be listed as steamed clams as all clams were in shell and the base was like a bouillabaisse with a little cream. If steamed clams, it would need more clams. Waiter warned it was not typical and set up expect which was good. It was delicious. Scallops atop bed of risotto - 6/10. - The 3 scallops were over-salted and overcooked on one side. Although not rubbery, the crust was too much. The risotto saved this dish as it was delicious. Did not finish. Toffee bread pudding - 10/10 Get it with ice cream. Delicious and not overwhelmingly sweet, given the toffee. Soft and toasted on edges. Service - 10/10 Host desk 10/10 They seated us side by side so we could both enjoy the view. They also initially offered different seating options and tried to accommodate us with the best view. We had made the resy late (same day) but still got a wonderful view. Waiter - 10/10 Kept checking in on us.

   My husband and I went to Barrel House Tavern today for a cutesy little bday lunch celebration. Upon arrival, we were greeted and seated quickly. However, once at our table, no one acknowledged us for even a glass of water for at least ~10min. Once we were acknowledged, and put our drink order in, we were informed by the gentleman that Taylor would be our server… Taylor never came for AT LEAST ~20 minutes after our drink order was put in—she passed by our table countless times, and it took for me to ask another server who she was in order for her to come acknowledge us… mind you, while this is happening, our cocktails never made it to the table still………. :) We eventually got our food, which was decent. But, based on the service, we will not return to this establishment—there’s far too many great eateries in the area with great service to do so. I did not want to leave a tip, however, my husband still insisted we do so (lucky Taylor). ^ . ^ Oh, did I mention they do not acknowledge/celebrate your special occasion? …. Why ask when making reservations then?

   Augh, I had high hopes. Unfortunately this is just another tourist trap. The service was meh and the food was about the same. Took forever for our appetizer to arrive, the oysters weren’t cleaned properly and the salad arrived without any dressing. I had to ask twice to get the wine I ordered. It was loud, the music was anything but relaxing. We paid over $300 for a couple veggie burgers (they add $$ for evvvverything). Plus parking was a nightmare and we paid $54 to o park while we ate. It was overall not an experience o would ever recommend to anyone.

   The two gentlemen at the host table were excellent. They gave us a great table with a beautiful view of the city. Our waitress was very knowledgeable of the menue and did an excellent job with our servicenand experience. This is our second time here and was another great experience!

   Started out good with immediate sitting and prompt taking of our orders. Then the wheels fell off. We didn’t see our waiter again and after waiting 45 minutes for the main course , I tracked the waiter down, cancelled the main course, and paid the bill with an insincere apology and no offer to take anything off the bill. Definitely won’t be going back.

   FABULOUS. Every single part of our experience was amazing. The service was amazing. The food was delicious. And the view couldn’t have been better. Great drinks. Would come back!!

    Really great service from the hostess and servers. Food was fine (mine was good, my companion didn't care for theirs), but overpriced. There was a lot of upcharging, and the bill was pretty high for what we got. It's balanced by having a nice location, view, ambience, and staff.
