Barrio Queen's newest location in Surprise, AZ is now open! We serve Mexican favorites, including traditional Mexican tacos, burritos, tortas, enchiladas, and entrées. Made reservation for 8 for inside at 6pm. Upon arrival we were told they did not have a table for us, and it was unknown how long it would be to get a table. My family had the same thing happen a year ago - what is the point of a reservation if you cannot have a table?! The lady at the front was unapologetic and just shrugged.

Service was a little slow but the food and drinks were good. We did a 4-course meal that they were offering as a holiday deal. Margarita, appetizer, entree, dessert. The food was delicious and the margarita was strong. We will be back.

Basically dined outside even though we were inside. With outside temperature in the mid-60’s, roll up doors along both bars were open to give them more seating. If we had wanted to eat outside, would have requested it. Outside dining area had heaters throughout and would have been warmer. Most uncomfortable experience.

We celebrated a birthday on 11/30/24. We ordered appetizers: chips & salsa (they are free; salsas are tasty), Nachos Chingones (full order; very tasty) & Queso Fundido (better when using the chips). For entrees, we ordered: AZ Burrito (be warned, it comes enchilada style), 3 regular tacos option, 3 Premium tacos option. The Quesabirrias taco is AWESOME! The Carne Asada and Al Pastor Taco are tasty as well. The have a free birthday dessert: 2 caramel filled churros w/ vanilla ice cream (awesome dessert).

Nice new restaurant. Def was our server, party of 10. He kept up and did a great job! Most of our group had Happy Hour small plates. Food was good. The flautas were marginal but the rest of the food was good. We will go back!

My food was absolutely delicious. I had the very tender carne asada. Each of the sides had a unique taste. The family with me seemed happy with their drinks and beverages. The wait staff was superb. A+
