Van de OpenTable-redactie: Acclaimed chef Tyler Akin is back with Bastia, his stylish Mediterranean restaurant inside Fishtown’s Anna & Bel hotel. Snag a seat at one of the green marble bar tops or at a cozy table by the fireplace to dig into seafood-forward dishes like sea urchin butter tartine paired with playful cocktails and riffs on classic aperitivi. Either way, the all-day cafe is made for lingering, just like his beloved and now-shuttered Res Ispa was.

    The food here is absolutely amazing. It was so difficult to decide what to have but settled with fresh sardines, langoustines, boar ragu, skate cheeks and shaved artichokes..Service was 3 star Michelin level..what an asset for Phila.

    Excellent, attentive service. Beautifully restored historical building. The food was ok, but too expensive for what we received.

    Awful experience! Beginning with the host & his sidekick ignoring us, then calling our party “friend” repeatedly (bizarre). The bread was stale & the food all had too much fruits & sauces covering them. The only exception was the steak, which was ordered without the “special” preparation. I’m sorry, I never do this, but it was that bad!

    Went with three friends for "Friendsgiving" and the food was exceptional! Were wowed with each of the five family-style courses that arrived. Standouts: 1) burratta, baby artichoke, sesame, warm caper vinaigrette, 2) sun-dried tomato panzanella 3) grilled dorade with sorrel pesto and tapenade 4) eggplant bonifacio with garlic breadcrumbs and tomme 5) pumpkin cake with citrus mascarpone and butternut squash marmalade. Cocktails were outstanding too. Service was warm, friendly, and knowledgable. Atmosphere was lovely and want the hotel bar to be a regular place to meet friends. Thank you to the whole team for making your home in Fishtown!

    The food was so good! I was apprehensive at first bc I didn’t even know what half the words were on the menu. But after googling a few words the menu was less daunting. Everything just had such wonderfully intense flavors. Even things I don’t typically like, like artichokes were made so uniquely delicious. I had swordfish skewers over walnut pesto with a zesty Greek yogurt and it was excellent. I asked the bartender what special cocktail I should try when my go-to is an old fashioned. He recommended an Islay of Beauty which was a pear/orange interpretation of an old fashioned and was fantastic.
