    The place was PACKED so it was a bit loud, but the service was amazing, the food cooked to perfection and we really enjoyed our experience!

    Meal was good as usual, but we had a 6:30 reservation, arrived prior to that time, but were not seated until 6:45. Our server was inexperienced. Usually, Baxter's is a true 5 star restaurant, this time it was not!

    Drunken mushrooms are a great starter. This time we had the steaks both ribeye and strip and both were well prepared and very tasty

    Great food all around, we had steaks, a shrimp cocktail and a tuna tartare. Delicious!

    Everything I ordered was delicious, my favorite was the shrimp cocktail, the shrimp are giant, perfectly made, cold and the presentation was very nice. The filet & shrimp skewers were also good. Service was amazing, attentive without being intrusive. Great experience!!

    Had a reservation at 8 PM about an hour or so after the end of the Illinois v Michigan football game. Place was packed, but we were seated at the reserved time and our meal order was taken, prepared and attended to by several busy but pleasant waitstaff. Will definitely make this a repeat visit in the future. Excellent food and service.

    When I make a reservation, I expect to be seated in the main dining room, not at a booth next to the bar. The food was well presented but a bit salty. I had the ribeye and was a little disappointed. I get that it was a busy weekend but they should be used to that by now. It wasn’t all bad but I was expecting more.

    We had a complicated reservation that was changing minute to minute. From the accommodating booking by Ashley, to the sweet hostess, the gracious manager Shawnee (sp?) to our wonderful waitress, Judy, Baxter’s was perfect! We had shrimp and calamari for apps, steaks and lamb for dinner, and great wine. It was our first time at Baxter’s but not our last. Thank you to all!!
