BAYTE, is a modern European neighbourhood restaurant with an emphasis on local sourcing and quality produce in the seaside town of St Leonards-on-Sea. The seasonal menu blends influences from across the globe, with particular reference to Italian recipes, such as hand-rolled pastas.
The meat at BAYTE is free-range and reared on biodynamic, organic Haye Farm in Devon. Vegetables are also sourced from organic suppliers, most of them from English and Japanese vegetable growers Namayasai, and Goat Grid Farm, both in nearby Lewes.

Food exceptionally good and service was great. Vegetarian food is given just as much care and attention as meat and fish dishes. Only downside is that the restaurant was cold. I’ll make sure I bring a jumper next time!

In St Leonards-on-Sea for the weekend and spent a lot of time researching restaurants before leaving. Well worth the effort. From arrival at Bayte we could fault nothing. Professional and friendly service, an open plan kitchen ran smoothly and efficiently, great ambience and a good vibe. And, if that weren't enough, the food was just what we like to eat and perfectly cooked. It was Sunday evening and they have a smallish menu which suits us well. Highly recommended, a short walk to St. Leonards Station and 10 minutes' walk to the sea - what more could you want?

Very beautiful place with an amazing ambience. Regarding the food, we loved the mains (bavette), the pumpkin agnolotti was delicious, beetroot with buratta was ok and unfortunately the tarte tatin was not good for our taste. Something which I didn’t really like is the fact that we had our anniversary, we mentioned it in the reservation, but they did nothing to accommodate this, anything from a note on the plate, to a better table etc

Love Bayte, great food and atmosphere. Only little comment would be mains were a bit on the cool side, and not much smile or interest from our particular waitress. Had a great night though, and would def recommend
