Bellanico Restaurant & Wine Bar saves some tables for walk-ins, please call Bellanico directly for large party reservations. Bellanico is a continuation of Chris Shepherd & Elizabeth Frumusa’s successful restaurant in San Francisco, Aperto in Potrero Hill. Bellanico is a neighborhood restaurant located in the Glenview district of Oakland. The name Bellanico is derived from their daughters’ nicknames, Bella & Nico. The Bellanico staff take great pride in food, service and wine. We serve rustic Italian cuisine that changes seasonally. We are dedicated to serving the best seasonal, local, sustainable and organic products that they can find. Bellanico features Pitman Farms Chicken, Prather Ranch Meat, Duroc Pork and only wild caught fish and seafood. It also features a wine bar offering Old World wines with an emphasis on Italian wines. There are more than 25 wines by the glass & 6 different flights of wine.

the pasta was so unique and delicious. salads were interesting. service (server was maya) was impeccable. easy to find parking. this will now be in our rotation!

The pork belly appetizer was superb. The fresh little gem salad was creative and delicious and you can't go wrong with duck confit hash. Had a lovely bottle of Italian white wine as well. A fantastic Sunday brunch!

All of the dishes we ordered were delicious and as described. The service was excellent and our water glasses were always full since the bottles were left on our table. Loved everything!

We live in S.F., but would be regulars if we lived in the East Bay. Consistently excellent over the years; great value; a neighborhood gem.

This is a tiny place where the server's body must fit closely to your head as he serves tables close to yours. That would be acceptable if the food was good, but it's not. We found the pasta hard and undercooked; the bruschetta was soft, and needed grilling on both sides. The caesar salad was dripping in greasy, warm dressing. Both pasta dishes were underseasoned. A disappointment compared to other meals we've had in Oakland.
