Do you love Italian food? A world famous restaurant executive chef says it all by saying, “the best meals in California are at Carmel Bistro Giovanni!” An artful, romantic setting with an international wine list and amazing cocktails.

Try some of our specialties: the "Mamma Mia" features mouth-watering meatballs with pasta and southern Mediterranean-spiced sauce, Veal Osso Bucco, Lamb Shank, steaks, and a plethora of seafood including halibut, salmon and sand dabs! For our gluten-free guests, we can also provide gluten free pasta and bread.

*Patio availability depending on weather. We do have plenty of heat lamps but do not have covered tables outdoors. Please understand this when booking.

* For parties of 6 or more we require a credit card to hold your table with a 24 hour cancellation policy, $25 per person will be applied to your credit card for late cancellations and no shows.

*We have a $30 corkage fee for a standard size bottle (750 ml.) 2 bottle maximum per table.

This restaurant is an absolute GEM. From the moment you walk in you are treated like a welcome guest. The staff is attentive without being intrusive. The food is phenomenal. Pastas are homemade and cooked to perfection, my body does not tolerate too much garlic, I request no garlic and they make certain my dish is served without garlic. I prefer a side of pasta instead of mashed potato with my chicken piccata, NO PROBLEM is always the answer. The owner, Farouk, stops by your table to make certain your meal is perfect and your experience is great. I can't say enough good things about this wonderful spot. Treat yourself often!

The chefs in this restaurant have been cooking together for over 20 years and the food is fantastic! The chicken marsala was the best I have had. They also make great coffee! The atmosphere is cozy and the service is excellent.

We were there for NYE. The food was amazing. We had the bruschetta as an appetizer and it was very tasty and fresh. I had the goat cheese ravioli and it was fantastic. I would go back just for that meal. My husband had the seafood Linguine and liked it a lot. For dessert we shared the Creme Brulee and it was really good. Highly recommend

Carmel’s Bistro Giovanni is our “go to” Italian restaurant whenever we travel here. Excellent food, great service, cute cozy atmosphere, friendly servers, good prices. My only complaint this time was the noise level. But not the restaurant’s fault….it was New Years Eve and my husband and I were seated really close to a loud party of 6 people. So it was difficult to hear each other….but the food and service were still excellent despite the crowd!
