   We are local and eat here often. Great seafood but don’t sleep on the pork belly appetizer. Some of the best in the city. The food at Bourbon House is amazing!!!

   The food and atmosphere were great! We had the pork, shrimp and grits, and burger and all were delicious. I ordered the frozen bourbon milk punch but unfortunately I never received it. I also wasn't charged for it, so just disappointed I didn't get to try it.

   I have dined at Bourbon House many times in the past but it’s been a few years since we last visited as we moved further away. Our meal was adequate for nutrition but it was by no means the caliber it used to be. The salad was sad and limp and I had to ask for dressing as there seemed to be none. The entree was missing salt and not as flavorful as Creole dishes are known. The milk punch was not frozen and they got rid of the best dessert ever…the chocolate pecan crunch! What!!? Why would this ever be discontinued? I will not be back and am so sad to sad this.

   Great oyster bar with delicious red fish! I also really appreciated that they carried really top-shelf ginger beer since I’m not able to enjoy alcohol. For those who can, they had a huge wall of craft and small-batch bourbons.

    The overall experience here was disappointing. As a local, I was excited to bring four out-of-town coworkers for what I hoped would be a great dining experience, but unfortunately, it fell short. The food was not up to standard—it lacked flavor, arrived lukewarm, and did not match the quality we expected based on reviews. My crab corn soup was so unappetizing that I only took one taste and left the rest untouched. I expected the waiter to notice and inquire about it, but he never did. For a restaurant with a good reputation, this visit was underwhelming. I truly hoped to showcase a great local spot, but instead, we left disappointed. I won’t be rushing back anytime soon.
