Buon Gusto means ‘good taste’ in Italian. We strive to bring you the ‘good taste’ of Italy in all aspects of our restaurant. Located in the historic Victoria Hotel building in St. George’s Square in Downtown Guelph, Buon Gusto is warm and casual with exposed stone walls and a contemporary interior design. Our wood-burning oven, made in Reggello, Tuscany is ‘il cuore’ (the heart) of Buon Gusto. We import molino caputo tipo 00 flour and San Marzano tomatoes from Italy, to make our pizzas in the traditional Neapolitan thin-crust style, hearth-baking them at 900 degrees Fahrenheit for just 90 seconds. Our menu also features pastas made from family recipes and small-plates of antipasti, perfect for sharing with family and friends.

    This is not a reflection on the restaurant, it is a reflection on the app. The restaurant was CLOSED. We had to find somewhere else to eat.

    Have dined here many times, was super busy and we had to wait a little past our reservation time We ordered a bottle of wine and received a wine with similar label but not as nice after my first glass I checked it and advised server this was close but not what ordered. They came back and we were finished our meal was fine and offered half off the wine. We hadn’t even had 1/2 the bottle and were having no more. I asked for the wine for free and he went back and got the wine free but took some time and encouragement from my side to get it. The pizza which is normally a 10/10 seemed watery and not near as good as we had experienced in the past. Seems like maybe new ownership and not what it once was. Too bad

    We enjoyed our experience there - the food was quite good, especially the focaccia and salads. Our main courses took at a very long time to arrive, something like 40 minutes. Our server, who was excellent, apologized but the kitchen was backlogged because there were so many’s patrons. It was strange that some of the patrons who arrived after us received their meals before us. The manager was also very apologetic and gave us complimentary desserts. We appreciated this gesture. We will go again as their food is very good.

    Party of 3 ladies for lunch. We requested a bottle off Santa Margarita pino grigio but were told the restaurant did not carry it any longer, so we accepted the substitute, which was fine. Micha, our server, was very attentive and fixed our wobbly table. We all ordered the arugula/pear salad and wild mushroom soup which was delicious! We were pleased with the good value price and look forward to coming back.

    Do NOT clear dishes from a table while one or more of the guests are still dining. Bring opening drinks within 3-4 minutes - not 10. Try and not to forget the parmesan cheese. Do not bring the focaccia and dip at the same time as the opening salad! First the former, then at least 8 minutes afterwards, the latter. Well meant service in place - but finishing and training urgently required.

    Great restaurant, amazing food and great service. Meet out of town friends for lunch. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. I highly recommend it

    It was a top notch experience. I celebrated a milestone birthday and was treated with such kind and sophisticated professionalism. Those that worked there genuinely took the time to converse and make us feel so at home. The food was absolutely amazing ! We will be going back and recommend others to go if they haven’t already.

    Food was fantastic, highly recommend the pork belly. Although it was simply too loud inside to be able to enjoy a proper meal. Service was fantastic however and we felt well taken care of

    Always a phenomenal experience. Incredible food, top-notch service and care. Have never had a disappointing dining experience, always leave exceptionally satisfied. Our #1 favourite restaurant.

    This has always been our favourite restaurants in Guelph. I’m sad to say that last night was disappointing . My husband got the pasta Carbonneau which was very dry and I got the fish special which was less than great. The service is always very good but the food was not up to par .
