We are fine-casual dining with a fire at the core of its heart. Through the smoke and whiskey ashes of the previous iteration which closed its doors in 2020 rises a new haze of smoke and whiskey as we bring back this iconic brand, smoked meats, bourbon, beer, deep hues, and various spaces to a new location in the North Loop. Butcher & The Boar will honor its beloved roots, while spreading new ones in the fresh foundation that will help our guests embark on a journey with notes of nostalgia that carry the torch forward with new tastes and experiences.

    Michael was a very personable waiter who was very informative regarding the menu. He led us through which was a “strategy” in how to share the large portions. Staff was attentive. Would have liked to have known more about the history of Butcher and the Boar as well as the Char Bar. Valet was quite slow to retrieve my car.

    Butcher and boar is amazing very well thought out, executed menu and incredible drink collections. It’s truly unique and family style is highly advantageous to taste more of this spectacular menu. The food is better than about any restaurant. Every single employee was super friendly and expert on the drinks and menus.

    Food/flavor was not great for the price we paid. Nice concept with an intriguing menu that just doesn't hit the mark at the culinary level.

    This was a first experience for me and I sat in Char Bar. The waitress was great, she was accommodating and attentive. I throughly enjoyed the drinks. I had the teaches of peach drink and it was so well made and perfectly balanced. I ordered the blue crab beignets and they were absolutely delicious, so light fluffy and full of crab meat. For my entree I ordered the salmon and it was crispy on the outside and so soft and well cooked on the inside. The flavor was just right. I would definitely dine here again. There’s much more on the menu I’d like to try.

    Waitress was very attentive and was great with food allergies. Food portion size was good for sharing and taste was phenomenal.

    Food overall was excellent. The sundae for dessert was small and tasted like kemps ice cream which was too bad. Service was just a bit slow.

    We used a gift card that was issued after a very poor experience during restaurant week that I had reviewed. This time we sat at a table at the Char Bar as opposed to the bar in the main dining area. Our server was personable and prompt, our food and drinks were delicious, and the ambiance was lovely. It was a complete 180 from our previous experience. Thanks to management for offering a consolation invitation. We appreciated the gesture and were very happy with how the night went.

    Pork belly was disappointing. Service was phenomenal. Overall food was not worth the price. Ambience and service were top notch.
