Jose Enrique was featured in the 25th Anniversary edition of the Food & Wines Best New Chefs and chosen as one of the "Best New Chefs." From 2015 to 2020, he made it to the finals of the James Beard Awards- the first time ever that a Puerto Rican gets this recognition.

Located in the heart of the legendary Fairmont El San Juan Hotel, Caña is an authentic Puerto Rican restaurant featuring an elevated menu composed of fresh dishes made with local ingredients and exquisite seafood options. Featuring both tropical outdoor and indoor seating, Caña maintains the best traditions of the Island of Enchantment, old and new. Music at pool or party next door was very loud. We had a hard time talking to each other in a normal level.

Really horrible. Waited 30 mins for table after being repeatedly pinged it was ready. Extremely short drink pours. 45 mins to get orders placed.

Our waiter Orlando was very helpful and accommodating. I ordered a shrimp Caesar salad with tomatoes, avocado and bacon added. Everything was cooked to perfection! Beautiful dining environment.

There was one vegetarian entree option on the menu and while it sounded interesting it was tasteless (and also tiny). Environment was nice. Just wish food was better.

I’ll keep this short and sweet. The food was excellent (pan fried red snapper as main course-order this, it was amazing). Restaurant was nice, hostess polite, etc… all the things you would expect. However, our server,Jose was phenomenal.!A polite gentleman, personable, knowledgeable about the dishes, good recommendations. I can’t share enough accolades about this guy. Caña, take notice and recognize him. He is the sole reason I am sharing this review with your prospective diners.

We ordered croquettes, wine, chicken and fish entrees and dessert. Our waitress was very nice . There was a bit of a communication problem. The croquettes were very good and the wine was fine. The food arrived and it was bland and not flavorful. We had to pay for the drinking water and a serving of plain rice ! Much ado about nothing . Another place next time

Not a great exoerience. Food pretty good but not great. Service just ok. I ordered an Aperol Spritz and it was made with ginger beer. Asked twice if the fish was coated in flour, was told it wasn’t (I’m GF). It arrived coated in flour. Surprised because it has a James Beard Award.
