Christopher Hirsheimer and Melissa Hamilton—the women behind Canal House Station—are cooks, writers, and artists. In 2007 they founded Canal House, which includes a publishing venture and a culinary, photography, and design studio. Their cookbook "Canal House Cooks Every Day" received a James Beard Award in 2012.

In 2019, Christopher and Melissa opened Canal House Station, a hidden gem tucked into an elegantly restored 1870s train station on the banks of the Delaware River in Milford, NJ. Their idiosyncratic, modern American cuisine is inspired by local ingredients that are ripe and in season in Hunterdon and Bucks County. They are two women, cooking together, and sharing their love of gathering people around the table to eat good food. They have been nominated twice for a James Beard Foundation “Best Chef: Mid Atlantic” award.

Canal House Station offers "Sunday Dinner" every Sunday. It is available for Private & Corporate Events, and Celebratory Gatherings throughout the year.

What a fabulous experience! From the moment we arrived and entered this beautifully appointed and cozy restaurant we knew we were in for a special time. The food was exceptional-each course providing layers of flavor- and the service was excellent. Thank you to the owners, kitchen and wait staff for providing a memorable experience. We already look forward to a return visit!

first time attending communal seating pasta dinner. As usual, excellent cuisine, service and atmosphere. This is the best restaurant in Bucks County area . ( even if it’s in NJ!)

This restaurant is alsways a joy!!! Simply great food presented in a beautiful way. Wish it was open more days. It was nice to be greeted by a glass of champagne for my birthday. Can't wait for a return visit!

This was our fourth time eating at Canal House Station. Each time has been outstanding in every respect. We’ll be back. If we lived closer, we’d be back more often.

Highly recommend the Canal House Station! The staff and service was excellent. Great atmosphere! Our favorites were the lasagna and the Tiramisu ice cream.
