The Captain Whidbey’s beautiful waterfront setting, edible gardens and Penn Cove view, provided all guests with a memorable experience. Focusing on ingredients grown locally on Whidbey Island, as well as produce, flowers and herbs harvested from the Captain Whidbey gardens, our culinary focus is on Northwest comfort foods.

    Enjoy a wonderful meal crafted by our incredible kitchen crew, with our rotation specialty Trivia Menu! We will have wine beer, and a selection of cocktails. To streamline service, a 18% auto gratuity will be added to all checks. Prizes are won each round, with this week's prize a Grand Prize of $75 to the winning team. Trivia goes from 7-8:30pm, and takes place in the restaurant and bar. Regular dinner and bar guests are more than welcome to attend and either play along or observe, but it does get loud! If looking for a more intimate dining experience, we recommend making a reservation between 4 and 5:15pm.

    Chef Sean and his team have created a unique dining experience for our restaurant guests embracing the coziness and traditions of the past. Join us for a lively and festive meal, with carols sung by the cast of A Christmas Carol from the Whidbey Playhouse in our lobby with mulled wine and warm spiced cider, leading to dinner at 5:30PM. First course: Oysters in a half shell, grapefruit mignonette, spiced Brown Bread and Sunchoke Soup. Second course: Salmon with tarragon caper brown butter emulsion, Smoked mussel and chestnut dressing. Third course: Roasted Chicken, winter root mash, mustard jus, Cloved Ham with Rummy fruit, Brussels sprouts with lardons and leeks. Fourth: Plum pudding and spiced apples, Jaune Mange and orange marmalade

                            I always take my parents out on their anniversary to cat and Whitby restaurant. I’ve been doing this for four years now. The experience has always been delightful! The food is great, the service is exemplary and we always have a great time.

                            Really, really special experience! We have dined (and stayed) here many times, but tonight’s Vivaldi Experience was truly special. The meal was stunning and so thoughtfully curated. The live music from the string quartet was magical. The service (as always) was warm and welcoming. Thank you so much!

                            We had a fantastic dinner! The Sable fish was outstanding as was the mushroom ravioli! Also don’t miss the bread and butter. We ended the evening by sharing a piece of the best carrot cake ever! Oh and the service was awesome as well! Enjoy!

                            This restaurant is a gem! It has great staff and service, a cozy vibe with comfortable seating and the food was AMAZING! We had the short rib and a fish dish which were both incredible. We had a wonderful time and recommend this place to anyone.

                            We have always enjoyed having a meal at Captain Whidbey. There have many updates to the dining room that are nice. The menu is not as good as it used to be though unfortunately.

                            We had a fantastic time at Captain Whidbey! The burger, cocktail, and chocolate tart for dessert were all delicious. Service was fast and friendly. I will definitely be returning.

                            What a great experience! We've been to Capt. Whidbey's for dinner many times and it's a delight every time. The place is so charming. It's like stepping back in time. The food, service and view is excellent. This time I tried one of their signature drinks, Storm Over San Fuca and it arrived at the table smoke and all!

                            I had a family dinner here for my 40th birthday, and the staff went above and beyond to make it a special experience. They graciously accommodated a few of my guests who were late because of the ferry and made sure their food came soon after they arrived. The food was delicious - everyone commented on the creative, delicious combinations the chefs concocted. Thanks for making my birthday so special!

                            The place is very old but rustic, the scallops on risotto was very tasty but over priced for 3 scallops. The Cioppino was very small they had their own take on it but did not let us know so it was not like a stew but couple mussels, clams and a small piece of Halibut. Both meals not worth the high cost. Had better and more food at other restaurants.
