   There is no reason to go to Cento - an embarrassment for Cameron Mitchell Restaurants. Average food and awful service. Went on Saturday evening - three people for a birthday dinner. Not crowded on a Saturday night - an omen of what was to come. Ordered a 2018 Romano Dal Forno Valpolicella Superior. The wine steward (they called her a somm, an insult to somms everywhere when she just dumped the bottle into a decanter, which, as you all know, not decanting a wine) “decanted” the wine and asked to keep it on the sideboard, promising she would “keep an eye on her stems and keep them full”. She lied. Had to get up and retrieve the decanter so we could actually drink the wine we ordered. First course came - meh. Then, we waited 35 minutes for the mains to be served. When they came they were lukewarm - clearly been sitting somewhere under heat lamps. Again - meh. Pretty presentation of portions of a size that would embarrass even Parisian chefs. Halfway through dinner, they seated a booth across the aisle from our table. The four diners didn’t want to sit in the round booth (even though there was plenty of room) so the hostess put a chair in the aisle between the booth and our table. So, for the next 45 minutes, the wait staff is bumping into me every time they passed down the aisle. The management and wait staff are clueless and I can get better food at The Olive Garden - absolutely no reason to go here and spend $700 for dinner for three people.

   Visited for our anniversary last night, our first visit. The ambiance is phenomenal, the patio, the decor, all A+. The tables were quite close together and we felt a little too privy to the conversations going on next to us and it made it hard to hear each other. Alex was our server and she was unmatched. As a restaurant manager myself, I can say that her service was some of the best I have seen or been given. The perfect balance of knowledgeable and available without being overbearing. The food was very good, we had a Carpaccio as an appetizer and the Bronzino and Saltimbocca for entrees. The high quality of ingredients was evident, however, I think we would have wanted the Carpaccio and Bronzino to be more flavorful as we both prefer more seasoned and pronounced flavors but they were very good nonetheless. The Espresso Martini was top tier and the Old Fashioned was solid, though nothing special. We got gelato for dessert which was delicious but a little too frozen when it arrived. Overall a very good experience and we will be back!

   This was our fourth time dining at Cento. It’s become one of our favorites. We love the ambiance, the music, the menu, drinks and especially the food. On all of our previous visits we would have also complimented the service. Unfortunately on our latest visit, the service was less than what we were expecting at a restaurant of this quality. Here’s what we experienced: One of our drinks was served by reaching diagonally across the table in front of my guest, spilling the drink as it was delivered. Whenever extra silverware was needed it was handed to my guest instead of being placed on the table. When clearing the table, the server first grabbed the silverware…then the bowl and/or plate…dripping broth onto the floor (just missing my jacket) from the silverware taken from the bowl. At one point my bread dish was removed before I was finished with my entree leaving me with no fork. Also, when ordering we requested a leisurely meal - something the server said would be related to the chef. Unfortunately our request was ignored as the courses were served very quickly. One more thing - my guest inquired about when the restaurant would once again put stuffed zucchini blossoms on the menu. The question was never answered. Everything else about the evening was fantastic. Just thought you should know about these issues.

   Great service. Guests from Japan loved the food and the fact that we were able to sit out on the patio.

   The restaurant is located in a nice neighborhood, German Village. The food is amazing and the staff is very nice and attentive.

   This was our first visit to Cento and we were very, very impressed. The decor is very elegant. We ate in the back room which reminded us of a "gentleman's club"...intimate, dark, welcoming. It does need more sound proofing as it was difficult to hear the 4 people at our table. Aside from that, all else was superb. The wine list and cocktails was excellent. Our server was beyond superb. He was extremely knowledgeable about the entire menu. He described all the specials in amazing detail, and could further describe any item on the menu, as well as help competently with wine and cocktail selections. The food we were served was also scrumptious. The beet salad was devine, very thinly sliced red and golden beets with goat cheese and a citrus vinaigrette. The Caesar salad was excellent. For our main entrees, I had the halibut special that was prepared perfectly. The special ravioli was also scrumptious. We passed on dessert as we were way too full, but the choices looked great!

    Wonderful service and everything was delicious! Can’t go wrong with any Cameron Mitchell restaurant but this was certainly one of the best
