   It was one of those evenings when everything went just right. The service was more than attentive. Every order was right on target. Of special note were the Brussel Sprouts appetizer and cauliflower pasta dishes. We visit Central Park Bistro every so often; last night was a good reason to return more often.

   I'm a huge fan of this restaurant. Definitely my top 3 on the Peninsula. I had the octopus starter - which is THE best in the Bay Area - followed by the crab ravioli. The wine list is superb and fairly priced. Great place for two or 20 people. I've never been disappointed. Business or pleasure, Georgio does a fantastic job.

   Central Park is the most reliable fine dining experience on the peninsula, for my money. I go often, and I continue to be impressed by how much the owners and staff seem to really care about what they're doing. They take pride in providing a great experience, that much is very clear! The skirt steak and filet are both consistently fantastic, but I also go with the burger from time to time and always love it. There are plenty of great restaurants in San Mateo, but when I want to just make sure I have a nice dinner and experience, Central Park is the move.

   We ended up at Central Park Bistro last minute on Mother’s Day after scrambling to find a reservation and unfortunately, it quickly became clear why they had tables available. Service was hit or miss: one server was attentive and pleasant, but the other seemed to be avoiding our table altogether, which made for an uneven experience. The food was the real disappointment. My wife’s steak was dry and lacked any real flavor, and my short ribs with pasta was confusing. There was too much going on and none of it worked. Even worse, everything was overpriced for the quality we received. The kids' burger and fries were the only thing worth mentioning and that’s not saying much. We ended up ordering an extra side of fries just to salvage the meal. Overall, we left feeling let down and overcharged. Would not recommend. There are far better options in the area.

   Eat here often. I was very happy with our appetizer (Burrata with Heirloom tomatoes) and my entree (Horseradish crusted Salmon), but my wife was disappointed with her entree (Mushroom risotto). Not enough mushrooms, too much asparagus).

   My halibut entrees was absolutely delish! As well as my starter with the heirloom tomatoes and burrata cheese. Our party shared the prosciutto pizza which was yummy too! Other parties had the ahi tuna entree which was excellent.

    We had a pleasant experience. Appetizers and Entree were quite delicious. We didn’t like the wood oven pizza, and the drinks were average. The restaurant provided cozy atmosphere for our group without much noise or disturbances. Server and host both continuously attended to our table, re-filling our glasses and taking orders at frequent intervals. Overall recommended.
