We had tried CHAAK back in 2020 and were disappointed (order lost and food not great) but kept hearing such great things that we decided we shouldn’t judge it on pandemic times. Mayan food is what I was raised on and I was feeling nostalgic. This was truly such a mixed experience. Our service was impeccable but the food was all highs and lows. The dips were tasty but very over salted and I’m someone that adds salt to everything. The ceviche was outstanding, I would go back just for that! The empanadas were another hit! However when it came to the main dish, the cochinita pibil the meat was just plain overcooked. It turned to complete mush in the mouth. I am shocked they would serve it like that! It could have been puree. The flavor was there but the texture was truly awful. We decided to end with the bombas and the chocolate dipping was excellent. We had been looking forward to this date night for so long and the experience was good overall but if we went back I wouldn’t be ordering the dips or meat again which is disappointing because of the menu items those were the two I was most looking forward to.

Chaak is an outstanding restaurant in every way. The food is delicious but the service and ambiance really put it over the top. I had a group of 6 including some with dietary restrictions and/or allergies. Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu and ingredients. She was able to make helpful suggestions and work with the chef to provide an excellent experience for our entire table.

We love Chaak! First time for brunch and it was as spectacular as the dinners. Great flavors, fresh ingredients …incredible service…all perfect for a special day out!

Delicious food and open space area! My favorite is their ceviche and the torta de cochinita pibil, a large sandwich with a generous portion of avocado and smoked pork shoulder and a side salad. Highly recommend!

First time eating here and I can’t wait to go back! Our server was super friendly and knowledgeable. He explained all of the dishes that we had questions about and suggested wine which ended up being perfect. I think his name was Sergio? Young guy. We’ll be back soon for that Caesar salad!! So good.

Im from the bay area but I come here everytime I visit my son. The food is amazing. Service is usually amazing. I feel that our server may have been over whelmed. She was a little snarky when we advised her we were not fans of the beets and cabbage .

We had 4 of us for a birthday dinner so ordered a lot of shared plates - everything was very good and the service was great. The restaurant has a very cool vibe.
