I know that the CHAR focuses on steaks but the Walleye dinner was absolutely fabulous. We chose Blackened which had a little heat to it. We have had a lot of Walleye dinners but this took the cake, best Walleye diner ever. Not just the Walleye but the entire plate(Wild Rice and corn soufflé). You have never had a corn soufflé like this before, we were speechless. The waiter was fantastic and told us the recipe is from 1930’s.

If you are looking for an inexpensive dinner, this is not it. The prices are some of the highest in the area but the dinner, service, and atmosphere is worth it. We shared a steak dinner and I can tell you without any doubt it is the best steak dinner in the area.

We've eaten at Char many times. Irena is simply the best. Super server and so pleasant and positive. Nice fireplace and family friendly.

We loved our experience at char. Most notably, our server was so friendly, and so knowledgeable… We just loved her. I believe her name was Irina, but we know her as the fantastic old-fashioned maker! We always have a wonderful experience at char as the rustic atmosphere With a nice menu selection and some high end wines make for a perfect evening.

Steaks were supposed to be medium and both the mignon and ribeye were overcooked and tough. Very pricey for the meal. Regretted coming to the restaurant.
