We started by sitting at the bar in an effort to take it all in. After requesting a wine list, we sat. And sat. And watched others, who had arrived after us, get served. Then, we sat longer. Finally a bartender cluelessly asks us if we’d been served yet. We asked for a couple glasses of wine and she said something along the lines of yes, I just have a few martinis to make, then I’ll be able to get those. Martinis do people who just sat down at least 10 minutes after we’d arrived. Bar service was clearly an oxymoron today. We abandoned the bar for our table without having received anything. That’s when service got 100% better. Alejandro was our server. He was attentive even though he had many tables on this particular night. Water, drinks and appetizers were all quickly provided without any issues or drama. Flawless at that point! Food was good, hot and portions were good. Oysters casino seemed a little wonky. Difficult to understand what they were going for with the burnt herbs served on the side. Entrees of mushroom ravioli was pretty good but I think they should consider a contrasting texture by adding something as simple as pine nuts. They should also filter the burnt bits of “brown butter” because that’s what a chef would do as a matter of self pride. Nice ambiance and live music all added to the atmosphere which was nice, energetic and all done at a reasonable volume. We’ll be back but I suggest just passing on the bar!

Steak cane out overdone, it took almost our whole dinner to get a new steak. When it finally came out it was mediocre. We probably won't be back Capitol Grille is 10 times better food and service.

We had an excellent family Christmas meal for the 6 of us. Burrata and crab and spinach dip appetizers were awesome and everyone enjoyed their pasta dinners. Staff was so attentive and we couldn’t have had a better time. Always a great experience.

Chicago Prime Italian might possibly have the best chef in the Chicago area. Every dish was creative, well-seasoned and delicious. Take it from an Italian-American who grew up in the NY/NJ area with relatives that can cook and the best Italian restaurants. The service was outstanding, also. Although the pricing is mid-high, it is worth every dollar especially if you are a real foodie that is interested in "real Italian food!" I was celebrating my 5th anniversary, and the staff acknowledged my special day with a complimentary tiramisu dessert and sparkler. The entire experience was first rate. Trust me... visit Chicago Italian Prime.
