Chop was created for people who love sharing, connecting and everything steak. We are proud to offer a menu that shares our commitment to sustainable beef sourcing, serving high-quality cuts of 100% Canadian beef. It isn’t just the meat that’s special – it’s also how we cook it. Our Montague broiler cooks at up to 1800 °F, giving a beautiful crust and flavour to every steak! We slow roast our prime rib in a humidity-controlled oven, keeping it mouth-watering and tender. And we put this level of care into each of our hand-crafted drinks, and from-scratch dishes, including plant-based and seafood options, with something for everyone to enjoy. All of this quality comes with friendly hospitality in warm and energetic rooms. Open for breakfast, happy hour, dinner and late-night!

    Chop has a wonderful atmosphere, the food was excellent! Great value. We had a few issues with a new, inexperienced server but the staff and manager looked after us and really went out of there way to ensure everything was resolved quickly.     The atmosphere was good although a little loud. The food, filet and NY steaks, one over cooked and the other tough. The peppercorn sauce was not good. The food service was bad, we were actually told by the server that he had a bigger table and was busy looking after them. Disappointing birthday supper!

    Whenever we visit Halifax and stay at the Sutton Place Hotel, we visit Chop. Perfectly cooked steak, and everything else on the menu is a hit. Love it.

    Service was lovely, my friend really enjoyed their burger. My prime rib was under seasoned and incredibly fatty, turned me off prime rib for the next bit.

    We went to Chop to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. It was our first time at Chop. We received complimentary champagne as well as an appetizer. Meal was fantastic and they also gave us a card signed by all the staff with well wishes. Great experience and we will return for sure
