The food is very good, but not exceptional, so overpriced. The place is cool and hip, probably why the high prices. I was vexed by the fact the restaurant required a usd 50 deposit to hold the reservation but then we didn’t end up getting a table until half an hour after the reservation. If a fee is required to reserve, the restaurant at least should be punctual.

Had to wait 50 minutes even though we had a reservation. They charge $50/person deposit to make reservations but didn't compensate us for the inconvenience.

2nd time I’ve been here and horrible service again. We were seated outside, waited 15 minutes for a server, had to ask for one. Then once we ordered our drinks, we waited over 20 minutes and had to ask where our drink was. Turns out the person that took our order wasn’t a server and had not even put in our order. They weren’t even busy during this time! Last time I went was when they first opened, which is understandable to have some hiccups, but there was no excuse this time. They need to step up their guest service, especially for the price!

Food was excellent and so was the service. But this is a VERY pricey place and the servings are small. $60.00 corkage just for starters. If you’re hungry, don’t expect to get out of there for less than about $300.00 for two people.

Came here to enjoy the new year and service left much to be desired. And when thrown up on in the long bathroom line, management was notified and did nothing. Not pleasant experience.

Food was excellent. Service could have been faster but I don’t really have complaints since we were taking our time. It’s a bit pricey, but that’s to be expected.

Great atmosphere with a modern open concept design. We did the tasting menu. Some items were amazing (sushi and tostadas) while others were subpar (salmon). The pacing and service were excellent at the beginning of the meal, but about halfway through, the pacing of each course took much longer. We waited 40 minutes for the dessert, so, unfortunately, we had to take it to go. I’m not sure if our waiter got busy with other tables or not, as he didn’t communicate anything to us. $300 for two people is a bit steep for the lack of attention we received.

I’m absolutely astounded how this restaurant remains open. We got here at our reservation time, the hostess stand ladies gave us smirks that we made our reservation on time and had trouble seating us opposed to some walk ins. We ordered cocktails and ALL foods at the same time and received the cocktails after 15 minutes, the appetizers after 20-25 mins. But then after we did not receive the main course for our table after ANOTHER hour. We ordered a sake bottle and it took 20 minutes for the server to come back to us to tell us the plum one isn’t available and took 10 minutes to get the replacement. We talked to the manager, Josh, although sympathetic and offering us dessert comped, that was still not a satisfactory fix to the terrible experience. My advice, get anything else, Chotto Matte is completely a waste of time, money, and stomach space.
