The bustling café society vibe of London’s Balham High Road is the perfect setting for relaxed Italian restaurant Ciullõsteria. Friendly and laid back, the Ciullõsteria is inspired by the sun-infused food and chilled out nature of Southern Italy. The Calcagno family, owners of Ciullõsteria, has more than twenty years of experience in the Italian restaurant business, experience that is applied in every last aspect of the Osteria’s running – from the simple, comfortable and unpretentious design of the dining room to the always efficient yet unfailingly friendly service from staff who welcome guests as if they were old friends. But of course at Ciullõsteria it’s really the food that is the main focus. All traditional and completely authentic, Ciullõsteria provides home style Italian cookery ranging from hand made pasta to fresh, crisp twelve inch pizzas, all served with quality wines from the country’s best and most well known vineyards.

The deep fried calamari were crisp and a good portion with a lovely aioli . The scallops were excellent. For the mains; spaghetti alle vongole and marinara with squid ink. From the specials; mussels and prawns with tomato sauce and one with white wine sauce. All were exceptional. We all shared the tiramisu which was very good. The staff are all very friendly and it was brilliant service all night. It's a lovely atmosphere with outstanding food and would highly recommend.

One of the best hidden gems in Balham. Always worth a stop for great food and terrific wines.

I recently had the pleasure of returning to Ciullõsteria, and it was another memorable experience. The menu offers a delightful variety of dishes, each sounding more tempting than the last. After much deliberation, I opted for the home-made seafood pasta, and it did not disappoint. The flavours were perfectly balanced, and each bite was a burst of culinary excellence. My family was equally impressed with their selections, and we all agreed that the food was nothing short of spectacular. I can't wait to return!

The food, wine and ambiance were excellent. My wife and I were celebrating our first evening out after the birth of our daughter 7 months ago. It did not disappoint!

Delicious food - in particular the truffle pasta - and lovely staff and ambiance, also (unbidden) brought my wife a little treat for her birthday. Love this place, looking forward to coming back again soon
