A relaxed wine-led rooftop restaurant with panoramic views of Manchester City Centre, a daily changing menu, and a cellar with more than 400 different wines to choose from.

Climat is the second site from the team behind Covino, who set up shop in Chester's historic city centre back in 2016. The team has since forged a reputation both regionally & nationally as a fiercely passionate wine-led restaurant with exciting daily changing menus.

Head Chef Luke Richardson best describes his style of cooking as 'Parisian ex-pat food' - a nod to his time spent cooking in the cosmopolitan kitchens of Paris.

As the name 'Climat' might suggest, our cellar of more than 400 different wines has a slight lean toward our favourite region of all - Burgundy. Outside of Burgundy you’ll find a healthy selection of other favourites from around the world, with wines from small producers, to the more iconic, and all the top vignerons that sit between.

Surpassed all my expectations, despite normally not being a big fan of small plates. Beautifully cooked food offering a variety of tasty combinations you would more traditionally see in a bistro. We took the option to have the set menu for the whole table, and I can’t say how impressed I was as the staff went above and beyond to offer a suitable alternative to accommodate our newly pregnant daughter in law. Attentive but not overbearing service, and never felt rushed. A great experience.

From the moment we walked in, it was an exquisite experience. Amy, who looked after our table was delightful. The food was fantastic, as was the wine. We left extremely happy with the overall experience and will definitely be back.

Food was mediocre (far better in our first visit several years ago), generally poor service. Incredibly poor attitude from the restaurant manager who essentially accused us of being disingenuous when we politely pointed out that we hadn’t received one of our dishes. Then they tried to charge us for it.

This is a lovely restaurant, the space is stylish and intimate, the staff are dedicated and passionate, the by the glass wine list is imaginative and well priced and the food excellent. Definitely recommended.

My third visit to Climat and each visit has been fabulous. Beautifully prepared food that looks amazing but more importantly tastes phenomenal. I could eat the beetroot tart and oat and treacle sourdough every day. The atmosphere feels special, the view is breathtaking and the service is attentive and friendly. A special mention to our lovely waiter Joe.

Climat is an experience you cannot miss. We went for the carte Blanche menu, so each dish came as a surprise. We tried dishes we may not have not normally gone for and each one was delightful. The service was great from greeting to goodbye, our server recommended some excellent wine choices. What an experience, I will be back!

Perfect! Great food, atmosphere and lovely staff! Waiter was knowledgable and helped us find the exact wine we were looking for and we enjoyed it so much we took a photo (always a good sign). Dishes were full of flavour and all came around the same time, so we weren’t waiting a long time for certain dishes. The staff were accommodating (we were late) and moved things around so we could stay a bit longer. We then moved to the bar area after which was lovely and enjoyed the incredible cookie and ice cream dessert there. Decor was also beautiful and aesthetic. Would definitely recommend!
