Cocina de Autor offers a dining experience. More than a restaurant, it is a Grand Velas concept, with gastronomy led by Two-Michelin-Star Chef Sidney Schutte of the Netherlands. A culinary tour that reflects the culture and life on the peninsula, Cocina de Autor features multi-course tasting menus highlighting fresh produce, fine meats and local products found during Sidney’s foraging adventures throughout the region.
Guests are invited to begin the experience at the Autor Bar, which is an experience in and of itself. Enjoy the stunning design and a range of cocktails created using fresh ingredients.

                    ¡Simplemente espectacular!. Es una inmersión a los ingredientes mexicanos con maridaje de vinos mexicanos desde Valle de Guadalupe, Guanajuato y Querétaro. Los chefs, sommeliers se esmeraron en hacerlo perfecto. Vale cada centavo invertido.

                    My husband and I have backgrounds in the Food and Beverage industry and we have eaten at Michelin star restaurants all over the world. While the experience at Cocina de Autor was not at the same level of a European or American Michelin star restaurant the experience was very good and worth the trip. Javier our waiter was outstanding!! Very knowledgeable about the wines from the tasting menu and he did a wonderful job describing each dish. The whole tasting menu was creative, beautifully executed and tasty. The wine pairing were a bit of a hit or miss. Some worked perfectly with the dish, a few needed more years of bottle aging and a couple were just OK. The prices for the experience seemed high for Mexico, and were comparable to Europe and America.

                    No obstante la creatividad y buena ejecución, la mayoría de los platos tienen poco sabor. Las porciones son pequeñas y el precio elevado. No había una lista de vinos por copeo disponible.

                    Have been to a over a dozen Michelin Star restaurants around the world and this was by far the worst one - shocked they even have a Michelin Star. The good: food is excellent and well plated/ presented. The bad: it is wildly overpriced for the experience. Was told there was no wine pairing for the 8-course. Alternative was to order one of only 5 cocktails (or 2 mocktails) as there was no wine by the glass. After ordering a cocktail was told they could offer the wine pairing wines by the glass. Go figure. Went on Saturday night and the hotel was having a wedding which was so loud, it felt like you were in the wedding. You could hear the wedding MC at our table inside and the music was so loud it drowned out the electric harpist playing for the restaurant. Save your money - there are restaurants with just as good food with better views/ambience in Cabo.
