The brain child of Urbanspace's Kevin Burns, CEO and Merrill Alley, Principal - Codependent is a conceptual cocktail and coffee bar inspired by Italian luxury, aperitivo culture and the belief that beautiful design should be enjoyed by all. Think of it as a high-end design showroom meets Austin hospitality.

Located on the ground floor of the Independent condo tower, Codependent is designed for duality. Where day meets night. Dark meets light. And iconic Italian furniture is best appreciated with a glass of wine.

We welcome design aficionados and cocktail connoisseurs, the local and the far flung, friends and neighbors to come for sustenance, fun, and for a bit of the unexpected.

                                            I didn't try to food but the best espresso martini I've had in awhile! So foamy and perfect to start the night or a little night cap. The vibes are so cute here! Would recommend for GNO, birthdays, etc.

                                            We had a reservation for Mother’s Day Brunch to attend a drag show and enjoy drinks. After a nice lunch, we arrived early for our reservation only to discover they had given our table away, despite paying a fee to secure our table. We were seated in a dirty area where patrons had just left, and our view of the show was obstructed by our location near the front door. The hostess offered us a choice between standing or sitting at a table by the door, which was not feasible due to my mom's injured foot in a medical boot. It took over 20 minutes for someone to take our drink order. We will not recommend this place and have no intention of returning.

                                            Beautiful ambiance setting. Very loud music and bad acoustics, ao hard to hear the person next to you. Drinks were beautiful presentation but overpriced and not balanced (too sweet, too sour, etc). Service was decent.

                                            I really want to highlight the staff at this place! I booked this spot to grab some drinks with my girlfriends and we were loving it! At one point some other large group that were walk ins started to take over our spot and Rudely push us to the side. Our waitress moved this party and gave us free shots because of the inconvenience. She even sat with us for a little and she gave us great recs for what to do next in the night!

                                            They had no food because "the guy didn't show up". This place shows up high on the open table list as a choice for dinner. Disappointing.
