                                                  The steak sandwich was awful. It was not hand carved meat as the description on the menu states. The steak was cut into large cubes that I had to cut into smaller pieces. And very tough. Hardly any “blue cheese horseradish sauce”. I think either the chef or the restaurant need to understand what a hand-carved steak sandwich is - not worth the money and poor quality. I was very disappointed

                                                  Had breakfast at the Bistro. Food was good, coffee exceptional. Bistro was maybe 20% occupied. There was one server, we waited at least 20 minutes from the time we were seated until getting our coffee/juice order in. We then waited at least another 20 minutes to order our food. 45 minutes later the server came by and asked what we ordered. Waiting 1 1/2 hours to get served breakfast is just not acceptable.

                                                  We have had dinner here several times over the past several years but the service for brunch was poor. It was not busy and neither were the wait staff. But it took more than 20 minutes before anyone came by to offer water and take drink orders. The we had to go to the manager to ask if anyone was going to bring drinks and take our food order. Simply unacceptable.

                                                  Beautiful setting and great ambience. The best omelet I’ve ever had as it wasn’t overcooked. High quality ingredients in all the dishes we tasted. Our server was having an off day. He apologized for forgetting things multiple times. We received our drinks after we finished our appetizer. The wine I ordered with the last course didn’t arrive until 10 min after the course. Maybe they were short staffed? In spite of the service issues we’d go back and give them another chance.

                                                  We brought French relatives for brunch, and what a huge disappointment this was. First, let me say that this was our 1st visit, so this might have been an off day. The setting is spectacular. Service and food were disastrous. Our waitress had no manners, served plates with her fingers in them and asked us to pass plates down the table. Not the kind of service we were expecting from this type of establishment. All 4 plates came out at different times, so some of us got done eating well before others. Mom ordered her steak rare, it came out well done. The braised beef hash had greasy ground beef you’d expect to see in a bolognese sauce at an average diner. My husband’s scrambled eggs had no seasoning whatsoever. My smoked salmon toast was delicious. The espresso martini was amazing, but the drinks too came out at very different times (including wine and beer glasses, which didn’t require mixing, so I blame this on service once again). When we ordered wine, the waitress was unfamiliar with the names, so she brought the menu over to the table, slapped in down and started counting out loud the lines to match the name of our wine to its position on the menu… Nobody came out to ask how our food was nor how our meal had gone, and because we had our 4 month old with us, we didn’t want to take the time sending food back (to be honest, given the terrible service we got, I am not sure this would have made a difference). Given the reputation of the establishment and the beauty of the setting (and the prices!!), we were expecting a much, much more elevated experience. We were planning to try the tasting menu for dinner at some point, but after this, we will not be back.

                                                  Booked a lunch fior our anniversary but very disappointing! We were greeted by a lovely lady and seated by another member of staff who turned out to be our main server. We waited 40 minutes before we were asked what we would like to drink! I eventually received my glass of wine but the server forgot my husband's cocktail. We did however receive our food in a timely manor.Meal was mediocre and very pricey. We will not be returning 😒

                                                  Overall, the experience was outstanding. Our waiter Justin was very engaging and attentive and knew the menu well. When it got busy, the manager stepped in to help and was friendly and attentive as well. The food was very good. The ambience alone is worth venturing out to Middleburg for lunch or dinner. We sat on the balcony in the atrium, and it had an absolutely stunning view. Wonderful experience.
