The food was excellent. The special Short Rib Grilled Cheese Sandwich was phenomenal. The wine is always enjoyable. This visit our server Samantha was spectacular. She was pleasant courteous efficient and had a pleasant personality.

We had an 8:30 reservation. Even though, it was extremely busy, we were seated on time. Our server was very attentive and gave us great recommendations. The food and wine were exceptional.

Miso glazed salmon was good. Jambalaya was OK, except the rice was WAY over-cooked. The waitress, weirdly enough, abandoned us part way through. I asked another server to get her. Didn't happen. Finally stopped her to ask for a dessert menu. She said 'OK' and then vanished. Sat so long I went to the maître d' finally a manager came over and offered us a free dessert but by then we had sat too long to want anything. Odd to say the least.

Seated & greated promptly, waiter came by w/menus but then disappeared for 15+ mins. Flagged down another waiter who promptly took our order. Original waiter then came by regularly thereafter also had Mgr ck on us and other wait staff members offer to assist w/ photo and ask if we needed anything. Great save and teamwork.

Coopers Hawk, Algonquin is the best thing to happen to dining on Algonquin Rd. We live in Crystal Lake and it makes for an easy drive. The atmosphere is awesome as is the service and food. Highly recommended reservations. You won't be disappointed!
