Never misses a beat! Beautiful food. The in house made bread is a given & won’t dissappoint. I had the lamb shoulder. Some fat on it which I’m not of fan of at any time but was very tasty. Just not big enough. Was more of a slice than a piece of lamb shoulder. Potatoes side were perfect! So crunchy & plenty. Carrots nice too as a side. Up there in pricing but you get what you pay for. Gnocchi very nice too. Super desserts in particular chocolate pudding. We were seated in front of the fire which was cosy although did get a little too warm. Next time I’d request seating at a table with window next to it. Great views of yachts although day was drizzly. Worth the venture out. Staff attentive; not super busy for a Sunday. Be mindful of 10% surcharge on Sundays. Seems to be common now everywhere.

The total experience as per the star ratings was magnificent the food was a little hard to understand what was going to be on the plate but was very yummy

My favourite restaurant never lets me down! What a beautiful Mothers Day treat to have lunch with my family at Captain Jacks…everything was perfect and nothing is too much trouble for the staff!! Thank you x

I wouldn’t normally be one to write a review or complain, The restaurant was relatively quiet for a Friday night and we had to ask someone to come serve us (around 20 min after seating) our table of 7. The wait staff were lovely however very slow for the prices you pay. The starters were lovely and unable to fault. Two of or guest ordered the steak (I think it was around $60) for one smallish sized steak with nothing else on the plate. Both ordered different ways of it to be cooked. My brother ordered it medium/ rare and the steak was so tough he had to spit it out and the fat on the outside was still white (hardly any render). My dad likes his steak cooked well done, he also had trouble eating the steak and said it was worse than the local pub; he did however eat it as he was quite hungry. My dad did mention to the staff at the time they collected the plates about the expensive s**t steak and the comment offered was “I’ll tell the chef”. I probably would have left it from there. However we all gathered outside and my brother went to the toilet. During his bathroom visit he could hear the staff arguing about our complaints and making snark comments. After we had paid over $600 on dinner this is not on! I’ve come to the restaurant possible 5-6 times in the past and will never return. What an absolute shame.

Revisited Captn Jack's after unfortunate meal 12 months ago. Hoping new chef is making a difference as venue is a favourite. Delicious food this time - from fresh oysters to tasty barramundi and blue steak mains. Generous servings. Chef doing a great job. It is a gorgeous venue - been going there on and off for years. Wait staff are attentive and friendly - no stiff pretentions. Not cheap but value for special night out.

The food was overpriced my dish was warm to cold,overpriced natural oysters with a vinaigrette, we had 2 dead flies on the windows ledge next to our table,couple of flies around the whole time we were there. $240 later for a wine/ a beer The entrees wich was 🦀 crab meat hardly see or taste it,more celery chopped up. 4 scallops/ 4 oysters & 2 mains. Very disappointing 😞

This is such a hidden gem. On a sunny day, there are a few better places to eat on the Mornington Peninsula. Yaringa Harbour is off the beaten track so it feels like a real discovery. The dining room is stunning, the food is gorgeous and the service is warm without being overbearing. I will be back.
