Crispin at Studio Voltaire is a 50-cover modern European restaurant and counter bar located in leading gallery and arts organisation Studio Voltaire.

The kitchen, lead by Michael Miles, delivers classic and seasonal menus showcasing the best produce of the British Isles from small-scale and independent producers. Expect modern takes on European and British classics, fresh pastas, charcoal-grilled meat and fish, seasonal vegetables, and comforting desserts.

Alongside an array of sustainable tap wines each season’s wine list will bring a focus to 4 different winemakers, celebrating their individual stories. The wine programme will also include wine tastings and winemaker dinners.

Located a few minutes from Clapham Common station this multi-use venue has event capacity up to 400 people standing or up to 200 people seated, plus a garden terrace.

Crispin Events offers catering services for seated dining, weddings receptions and dinners, working lunches and canapé and drinks parties.

The meal started very well with a salad and the cheese croquettes, staff were friendly and welcoming even though it was a little cold inside. We ordered 3 small dishes and 2 large with a side of grilled greens. This is where the meal changed. One of our small dishes was forgotten, the Mussels were tiny but very tasty with half of them missing. The side greens had so much vinegar on them we couldn’teat them. The larger dishes the sauce covering the chicken was sickly sweet and the pork was terrible at £32 for a bit of no taste pork (pork is normally cheap, I have never paid this much). The restaurant were very good about our points and adjusted the bill accordingly. I would not recommend but maybe we just had a bad experience because we had high expectations.

Phenomenal food and atmosphere - a hidden gem off Clapham High Street. The cod, hot honey ricotta chicken and radicchio salad were amazing, will definitely be going back!

beautiful colourful food, bursting with amazing flavours. Absolutely delicious. Service was wonderful too and some of the nicest wine i’ve had in a long time. Only complaint was being told that we only have the table for 1.5hrs, it’s not the best vibe as soon as you walk in and just would’ve though that 2hrs minimum was appropriate but I get that it was a busy friday night. Otherwise an impeccable dining experience, thanks so much.

We had a fantastic evening. I phoned ahead as I had made a mistake in my booking and needed to add another person. The team very kindly arranged us around a large table and we had ample room. We arrived and were greeted by Maria. We had a great selection of wine recommended by Maria as well as the peach martini (?). We ordered everything off the menu and it was absolutely wonderful. In particular the pear radicchio and the squash dish -both phenomenal!!!! Maria was a really fantastic host, so welcoming, engaging, and funny. We really had a great time. Thank you, we will definitely be back!!

Great food, good drinks. Bar stools were a bit uncomfortable and seating at the bar was a bit tight.

We had a lovely evening at Crispens. The staff were lovely and the food was interesting, beautifully presented and delicious. Will definitely be returning.

Excellent good, great wine and friendly service. Food was very slow to arrive but staff managed expectations and gave us a free glass of wine to compensate.
