In the late 1800’s, Royal Street was home to a famous “curio” shop, a place where curiosities from all over the world could be had for a dollar or two. Today, the shop is no more, but the feeling of excitement and wonder still exists on Royal Street today. And so in the heart of the most premier art district in New Orleans, we’re bringing back the curiosity – reintroducing New Orleans to a circus of flavor so vibrant it makes other restaurants nearby pale in comparison.

    Lekker en gezellig gegeten op het balcon van Curio. We hadden gereserveerd met de vraag of we op het balkon konden eten. De twee ontvangstdames deden opeens heel erg moeilijk en begonnen met elkaar te overleggen. Geen idee wat het probleem was. De zaak was lang niet vol, ook op het balkon was volop ruimte ook nog toen we weggingen. Uiteindelijk werd het ons 'toegestaan'. Boven had een ander meisje dienst. Die verstaat het horeca-vak. Uiterst vriendelijk en gastvrij. Uiteindelijk toch lekker en erg gezellig gegeten.

    Six NOLA natives went to dinner, and between us had crab cakes, shrimp and grits, turkey Cuban sandwich, duck and black-eyed pea gumbo, a fried seafood platter and the crawfish etouffee. All of the food was good but the crab cakes, etouffee and Cuban sandwich were standouts. Also, we asked to be reseated due to a loud party at the bar and were accommodated immediately which was much appreciated. Would definitely return.

    Downstairs is very nice and the bar is lovely. Cocktails were excellent. We sat upstairs and it isn’t as nice as downstairs. There is little ambience as it’s very very bright. They should turn down the lights a bit to create a mood. It’s like cafeteria level bright. They have a lovely balcony that overlooks Royal which is great. The food was good. My burger was delicious but fries were cold. My husband’s shrimp and salmon were excellent. Service was wonderful. Our server was attentive and polite.

    Very good food. Accommodated for a dairy allergy without a problem. Friendly and clean. Would recommend.

    We were there Super Bowl weekend, so that may have affected the service and ambiance. However, they had the best Hurricane in all of French Quarter, and possibly the best French Onion soup we’ve ever had. If we make it back to New Orleans, we will definitely be eating here again.

    Amazing food and service!! My daughter said, “I’m so glad we came here, now I some place to recommend to people!” We had the alligator poboy (tender not chewy) and the “taste of new orleans” So delicious!
