Set in the perfect location for Oxford City center with ample parking at a reasonable rate and within walking distance of the city center and the River Thames. Our surroundings are relaxed and tranquil and we offer service to match.

Join us in Deacons bar, where you can grab a bite to eat or enjoy a drink in a comfortable and inviting setting. If the weather’s fine, then take a tea or maybe a Pimm’s out to our sun terrace.     Trying to be fancy for the sake of it. Food that arrived didn't seem to match the description on the menu. Food was hot but quite bland.

    When we arrived we were told the restaurant was fully booked and we were told we could eat in the bar. It was a special meal so I did not want to eat in the bar. When we were taken into the room it had many empty tables! The food and service was great however the restaurant was a conference room with some tables spaced very far apart. It was not set up as a restaurant just simple a plain room with tables!

    Despite booking a table in the restaurant for a special occasion, the hotel decided to close the restaurant for dinner the day before, without notification, and seat everyone in the open bar area. The menu online was also out of date and dishes were no longer available. The bar area was shared with a wedding party for about an hour so it was crowded and noisy. First drink (Aperol Spritz) returned because the Prosecco was flat. The steak was dry with very little sauce/jus. Over priced and mediocre.

    We ate here as we were staying at the hotel. After being seated it was a good 15 minutes before we were offered any drinks and at this point the restaurant was not even that busy. We eventually ordered and the starter was only a selection of bread and it took what felt like ages to be served. The bread was nice but the butter was very hard. When the main dishes came I had ordered a mushroom risotto with a rocket dressing. When it arrived there were no mushrooms to be seen, it was a grey colour and didn’t look appealing at all. Unfortunately it was tasteless and even when I added salt, pepper and Parmesan it still did not taste good so I didn’t eat it. The waitress took it off the bill and was very apologetic. Thankfully the truffle chips were good and the pasta the children ate was good. Overall I think for the price per main course of up to £20, the food should have been better.

    We were the second table to be seated. When we were seated the individual asked about water,yes to the water. 15 mins later water was brought to the table. The waitress took our order, 1 coffee, beef ragu dinner, salmon dinner, bread and chips. Took 20 mins to get coffee and bread. Our food did not arrive for 1hr and 30 mins which we were never visited by the waitress staff once to check on us. We ran out of water and had to go up to pay the bill. There was no excuse for the wait staff service since there were several wait staff and a manager on site. This is a manager problem and needs to be corrected. Food was average nothing could not get anywhere. Don’t waste your money.
