Hidden away in a little suburb known as Auchenflower, Deer Duck Bistro brings a unique fine dining and degustation experience, serving up degustation menus in a quirky and artistic environment, thoughtfully decorated with French Renaissance furniture, old silver cutlery, crystal whiskey decanters and antique paintings.

For those with pure food indulgence in mind, come next door and sate your desires with our classic, Modern Australian and European cuisine.                     Rare, my friends, are the occasions on which you find a fine dining place whose food, service, and ambience actually matches up to the eye-watering price tag. Deer Duck Bistro is one of those golden gooses. My wife (who as looking well fit...like, damn. Like, I was distracted. Anyway) and I (who was looking dapper enough in my loud vintage polyester but...well, y'know) had the long degustation and sampled nine of DDB's dishes and it's real, REAL tough to pick a winner here but let me flail about wildly, clutch from my memory the pork belly entrée and the duck breast main, and whichever dessert involved mango. They were all, in a word, transcendental. Book a table now. NOW, you cretins! Also, a word to the wise: the wine pairings are delectable but you'll be the equivalent of a full bottle deep by the time you get to the final dessert so for the love of God, do not drive. You'll enjoy yourself better.

                    Initially we intended on having the short course but once my fiancé and I arrived, we were seated instantly and we had quickly made the choice to stay in this lovely atmosphere for alittle while longer and really soak it in. All in all 11/10, absolutely recommend and we will most definitely be visiting again.

                    Very nice hidden gem. The food is a symphony of perfectly combined flavours. The matching wines were delicious too. Service excellent, therefore we left some tips. Prices are high but worth every penny. We will come back.

                    Coming in through the Empress doorway was like Narnia unfolding, captured La bohème.. what a wonderful surprise... a truly unique and beautifully gastronomic experience right on our doorstep. The quality, quantity and presentation create a truly distinctive gourmandising experience, enabled through polite and attentive staff and exceptional interiors, all the ingredients for a very special and intimate evening.
