We serve contemporary share plates with a focus on sustainability and dietary requirements. Our menu is split between omnivore and herbivore dishes that are predominantly gluten free and with numerous plant-based options. We have a full service bar. We have a focus on small Australian natural wine producers that use bio-dynamic and organic practices.

The full service bar provides beverage options from cocktails to Australian wines. Set in a refurbished industrial building we provide a warm and inviting atmosphere for your event. Catering for all types of functions from birthday dinners to full venue hire, we are happy to tailor events to meet your requirements. We can cater for up to 90 guests for a sit-down function and approximately 120 guests for a stand-up canape event.

    If your looking for a relaxed dining experience and try food you will not see elsewhere, take the Detour! Everything is cooked with care and passion by a calm and well run kitchen.

    Bringing back the classics. Limited drinks list but dining here is more about the food anyway. Loved it.

    We dined on a menu type of each and both left stuffed! An incredible amount of food for the price you pay, the wagyu was incredibly well cooked, however pumpkin and carrot stole the show and is a must try. Incredibly pleased with the wine knowledge and service from the staff as well. A must dine in Brisbane.

    All four of us had a wonderful Christmas lunch at Detour. The food was exceptional, and the service was delightful. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience—it truly made our day special. Thank you, Detour!

    Fantastic experience, everything about their dishes complements so well together. I've never had better broccoli anywhere else. Very professional service. Can't recommend highly enough.

    The food at Detour is off a small but what you would call eclectic mix. Emu, crocodile, duck, salt and vinegar fries etc. I guess you could say its different! Presented well and very tasty, always a good place to go for something different.

    We love Detour. It is a shame it is closing at Wooloongabba but we look forward to its pop-up at James St and then its new permanent home in the middle of 2025. The food is fabulous - we ate entirely from the Herbivore menu this time. They are one of the few dining destinations in Brisbane doing truly interesting and tasty vegan options. Highly recommend even for the carnivores amongst us.

    Staff are friendly and attentive, food is outstanding. The Gunpowder Waygu and the Lamb just melts in your mouth. The Heirloom Carrots and Maple Pumpkin are truly something to be experienced.
