Where the old school diner and modern cocktail bar meet, Deville Dinerbar is the gathering place to indulge in American-inspired comfort food in downtown Montreal.

It’s a story of three brothers celebrating their love of the past, whose fond memories of summer road trips with mom and dad was a foodie’s ultimate adventure. With stops to various diners all along the east coast, the boys were forever hooked on its exciting cuisine and knew they had to spread their gospel of diner love to the masses.

Years later they did just that. Deville Dinerbar isn't simply an homage to diners of yesterday but a creative outlet allowing the brothers to transform dishes and drinks for today's modern tastes and trendsetting sensibilities.

We were seated on the second level near the bathrooms. The music was very loud as the ceiling are low. Some volume balancing needs to be done.

I really enjoy going to Deville Dinerbar. The food is amazing. I took the Prime rib dip sandwich... And Wow!!! Service is excellent. The waiters are superb. The ambience is fun and energetic. It is definitely one of my top restaurants in Montreal!!

Two weeks ahead of New Year’s Eve, I made a 6:30 PM reservation for two. My girlfriend and I arrived promptly, only to face a masterclass in selective seating policies. Despite the abundance of empty booths and tables, our polite request for a booth was denied. One waitress seemed ready to seat us in one, but in swooped the supervisor to enforce their “no booth for two” policy. Having being escorted upstairs, where—surprise!—more empty booths awaited. One, conveniently next to us, remained unoccupied. Naturally, we asked again, only to be told it was “reserved for a party of four.” Fine. Rules are rules, right? Or so we thought. As we settled in and began to enjoy our meal, a white couple—also a party of two—was seated in the very booth that was supposedly reserved for four. A puzzling decision, considering they didn’t even speak French—I would even understand that they prefer French speaker and not be surprised since we’re in QC. So, what was the point? Was it about party size or something less defensible? Either way, the message was clear, and it wasn’t one of inclusivity. Nothing like a dash of discrimination to ring in the New Year.
