   We visited for our anniversary dinner and I can say that it was a lovely experience for both of us. The staff were all very kind and friendly. We ordered matching wines for our set course and they were all very knowledgeable about the wines and pairings. Food was impeccable as well! Overall, a lovely dining experience

   An enjoyable evening with family celebrating a birthday. Food was totally amazing and staff were helpful and friendly. Overall a lovely evening.

   Succulent chalkstream trout with the most perfect citrus cremefraiche for me and fishcake on pea purée for my husband were both delicious , especially the deeply flavoursome purée! My pork tenderloin was succulent ,soft and pink . No dry meat at all here. Sauté potato cubes a bit underwhelming though. The chicken was SO tender and again succulent , served with a deep rich gravy , but the peas and bacon( although a good portion) were too salty for my taste. The wine matching experience with Adam was, for me , immensely enjoyable. No pretentious nonsense just info and reason behind the choices, and I had to agree with the latter wholeheartedly!

   Waiter was so attentive and gave suggestions for wine. Food was beyond perfect, staff even allowed us to order off menu.

   This restaurant has been one of my absolute favorites for a long time, and I’m still a loyal customer — but I can’t help feeling disappointed by the recent changes. What once felt elegant and perfectly balanced has become overwhelming. The portion sizes now are so excessive that you can barely enjoy the full experience. The main course is gigantic, leaving no room (or appetite) for dessert, which used to be one of the highlights of the meal. I just wish it would return to the thoughtful, refined dining experience that made it special in the first place.

   Dobson and Parnell is our fining dining restaurant of choice in Newcastle. Tonight we popped in for a pre theatre meal and everything was superb as always. We chose from the set menu and had a 3 course meal as good if not better than Michelin starred restaurants we have visited. The knowledgeable staff are always on hand to help and offer exquisite wine pairings. D+P is a jewel in Newcastle's, if not the north east's culinary crown.

   Really enjoyed our meal at Dobson and Parnell and would whole heartedly recommend booking asap, we were very well looked after. I had a starter of chalk stream trout with caviar and my wife had fish cakes. My starter was one of the best starters I’ve ever had and the matching wine went perfectly with it. I had Grainger Market fish with new potatoes and samfire, it was lovey, I’ve had tastier, but were very lucky, at home we get the best, freshest Grimsby fish delivered straight to our small Lincolnshire village every Tuesday, so we have been spoilt. Again, the wine matched perfectly. My wife’s pork tenderloin could have been slightly more tender, but again, it was good. I had a desert, cherry clafoutis with Chantilly cream and candied almonds, delicious, and very well matched with a ruby red wine. Whilst we were there, a large party arrived, they were quite noisy but not annoyingly so, and the service we received did not suffer despite the staff having to work hard to get the food out to everyone. Don’t let my slight, minor grumbles put you off booking, please book now, overall richly deserved five stars.
