Set in the heart of downtown Redwood City, Donato Enoteca offers true and honest contemporary Italian cuisine from Executive Chef Donato Scotti that changes weekly determined by the freshest available seasonal produce. Homemade pastas, wood-burning oven pizzas, meat and fish courses are available, executed in an authentic yet modern way. The menu spans every region of Italy and incorporates artisanal products, such as fresh imported burrata, prosciutto, grappa and olive oil. Other in-house specialties include sausages, mostarda and lamb prosciutto. The wine list focuses on smaller-production boutique wineries from Italy, California and France.

Very odd playlist. Jarring. Music jumped around from 50s era pop to Frank Sinatra to Beatles, to 70s era pop. Very odd. Would wish for them to stick with just one genre, would be more relaxing. Place was very empty which was not a great sign, particularly in comparison to Milagros next door which was hopping. Food was just fair. They used to serve bread with a demiciiis herbed oil before the meal but I guess they cut back on this. Service was good.

Some of the dishes were great while others lacked flavor and/or texture. The delicata squash was particularly disappointing while the agnolatti was fabulous. The other dishes were in between. The panna cotta was yummy.

Pasta was delicious, the bred service was good, the cocktails need some work, and the deserts are sub par… have had better tiramisu at Vino Enoteca in Palo Alto!

Had the prize fixe menu of Ravioletti, veal Milanese and chocolate and hazelnut mousse. Everything was delicious. The ravioletti could have been warmer-my only complaint, but it was a lovely dinner.
