                                                                                                                        Eclipse Bistro has been our go-to restaurant for birthdays and anniversaries over the past several years, so we celebrated another anniversary there last evening. For the first time, we were both disappointed. Our drinks were fine and arrived in a timely manner. Our appetizer, the shrimp bruschetta, was very good, as were our wedge salads. However, the meal went downhill from there. I ordered the double pork chop, which I’d had there in the past and enjoyed a lot, while my husband ordered the steak frites. We both ordered our meat medium rare. I told the waitress I liked my pork mostly pink. My pork was overcooked and dry, not even a hint of pink, and my husband thought the beef was not very flavorful, despite a nice herb butter. At its $49 price point he expected more. We shared a crème brûlée for dessert. The waitress torched it at the table, which was a nice touch. However, when we dug in, it was ice cold under the brittle topping. We prefer ours warmed a bit, or at least room temp, but this was right out of the refrigerator. I guess we should have asked to have it warmed a bit. We left thinking maybe we should try another place for our next celebration, but also recognizing that this experience was not typical of our past visits.

                                                                                                                        We had a very nice dinner. The food was good, the service was great. It has a varied menu with lots of items that looked good. They also understood and accommodated my celiac disease well. I would highly recommend stopping in for dinner or a special occasion.
