I’ve been to Eddie Merlot on many occasions. I’ve always enjoyed my experience. But this was the first time coming with my children and on Thanksgiving. They were clearly shortstaffed and under prepared for the volume of guests for Thanksgiving dinner. We waited 15 minutes past our reservation time to be seated and didn’t receive any food that we ordered until being seated for an hour and a half. My three children and I all ordered appetizers and salads. We didn’t have any main course, but our first dish was not even served to us until being seated at the table for 90 minutes. Very unfortunate.

Hectic and crowded with people waiting to be seated. BUT, we were immediately recognized and seated within a few minutes. We went with the Thanksgiving special and not disappointed. Joe took our orders and everything was perfect.

We had a 4:45 PM reservation, which we booked through OpenTable. I arrived about 10 minutes early and was informed they were running behind. We finally got seated around 5:20 PM. After waiting at our table for 15 minutes, our waitress—a polite young lady—showed up and explained that they were short-staffed, and she had been pulled from the bar to help. Despite her best efforts, service was incredibly slow. We had drinks at the table, but it was another 20 minutes before we saw our waitress again to place an appetizer order. The appetizer took 30 minutes to arrive, and we continued to wait long stretches between her check-ins. Meanwhile, we watched several tables seated after us get served dinner, dessert, and leave while we were still waiting to place our dinner order. When we finally managed to order, the delays continued. Our dinner didn’t arrive until 8:00 PM—2.5 hours after we sat down—only after we requested to speak with the manager. The manager was apologetic, explaining they were having kitchen issues. While he promised to take care of our bill and acknowledged the delays were not the waitress’s fault, the experience was far from what one would expect from a fine dining establishment. I felt sorry for our server; she wasn’t a regular waitress and seemed overwhelmed. This was clearly a management issue. The manager also promised that someone would contact us the next day with a gift card to invite us back. It’s been a few days now, and we haven’t heard from anyone, nor do I expect we will. For a restaurant of this caliber with premium pricing, this was a completely unacceptable experience. I’ve had far better service at other upscale establishments like Capital Grille and Eddie V’s. I would strongly recommend avoiding Eddie Merlot’s at this location—poor management ruined what should have been a pleasant evening.

Waited 40 mins for cold food, server was not attentive to table needs. Order wagyu meatball appetizer never came. Manager David was nice and kind. Food had much potential if hot and fresh.

Sat in the bar with the band. Was great fun on a Saturday night. Small problem with one of our dinners that was resolved to our complete satisfaction. Server and manager quickly resolved the issue and we had a very enjoyable evening. Service and food were both great!
