Inspired by both Cabo San Lucas’ beautiful coast and Mexico City’s vibrant cosmopolitan neighborhoods, Esperanza’s thoughtful design blurs the lines between art and function. Masterfully designed by internationally renowned Islandic architect Gulla Jónsdóttir, Esperanza’s interiors reflect an elevated coastal ambiance that exaggerates the grandeur of a beach town villa.

Chef Ray Alvarez oversees a menu featuring fresh interpretations of Sonoran cuisine while Head Mixologists John Fox and Kevin Williams developed Esperanza’s bar program to not only include delicious and playful cocktails, but the two have also created the largest tequila list and mezcal collection in the South Bay.

Second time eating at Esperanza and food and service outstanding on both times! Super fresh cevices, very flavorful dishes, highly recommend the salmon and filet mignon fajitas but you can’t wrong, they are all good. Not to mention the delicious tortillas and churros or a flan for dessert. They also have a variety of margaritas, mojitos and amazing cocktails to choose from. Fun environment and attentive service. Highly recommend!

Not my best night at Esperanza. I semi frequent this place and tonight it was simply off. Our waiter Hunter did a great job… but the overall food and service lacked tonight in comparison. I’ll certainly give it another shot..just hope the experience is different

Food delivery staff brought wrong meal, and waited over ten minutes for table waitress to come back by our table to mention error. Explained my meal was probably delivered to wrong table but could submit another order to chef. I elected to try to eat what was delivered, and the waitress comped the order. Regardless, I left a big tip for my appreciation of the effort.

I've had better ceviche. it was very lime forward and couldn't appreciate the flavor.

Esperanza is one of my go to local restaurants. Fantastic food, drinks & excellent service. Great location in downtown MB, to enjoy all the local festivities.

I was a bit disappointed here. Such high expectations, but sadly left me unimpressed. I have to say, the servers and all employees were super attentive, polite, and helpful. We dined on a Thursday evening, and it was a bit chilly outside. It was chilly inside too! There is no wall or door to seal out the weather! Its going to be a nice concept for warmer weather, but not for your typical winter evening in Manhattan Beach. And the food was just average, with above average price tag. Nothing exceptional to justify the cost. Sorry to have to write this, but buyer beware!

We love this restaurant and always enjoy going there. But last night the service was awful. It took forever for our server to take our order and serve our drinks. Then he served two of the three dinners with my dinner coming long after the first two arrived. We ordered a second drink that didn’t come till we were finished with dinner. When I commented on these drinks being more like dessert since we were finished with our entrees, he said well yeah Grand Marnier is a good dessert drink (2 of us ordered the Palmilla margarita that has Grand Marnier as an ingredient). He never came back and it was too late to send our drinks back. He was unapologetic, the pace was awful, it created tension at our table in what should have been a fun, festive night. Bad, disappointing experience at this local restaurant we generally love for its ambiance, excellent food and great margaritas. Not sure I’d want to risk it again. Oh, and my view from my table straight to the men’s urinal in 2 of the restrooms wasn’t very pleasant either. I never sat at this table in this position before. Disgusting. You really should do something about this.
