Inspired by the rich culinary history of the Bue Grasso (fat ox) Festival of Carrù Italy, Fat Ox serves modern interpretations of traditional Italian dishes from acclaimed local Chef /owner Matt Carter.

The sleek 7,000 sq/ft restaurant features hand made pastas crafted in house daily, slow-roasted meats and seafood, an international wine list and a full craft cocktail bar to make for a truly special experience.

The newly renovated front patio and our beautiful courtyard patio are the perfect place to enjoy the fall weather.

Van de OpenTable-redactie: De bekroonde chef Matt Carter, bekend van The Mission, brengt de rustieke Italiaanse keuken tot leven bij het geliefde Fat Ox. De moderne eetzaal beslaat maar liefst 7.000 vierkante meter en is stijlvol ingericht met zadelleer en donker hout. Geniet hier van verse pasta en geroosterd vlees, waaronder een lasagne met 25 lagen en een porterhouse steak van ruim een kilo. Het menu bestaat uit vier gangen, van antipasti tot dolce, en is ideaal voor een gezellig etentje met een groep.

My husband and I used as gift certificate toward a date night dinner. We were able to make an early reservation with short notice. We enjoyed the ambiance, although I was not a big fan of the music. Fortunately it was not so loud that we couldn’t hear ourselves talk. Our waitress Cindy was truly outstanding/awesome/exceptional/there are not enough superlative adjectives for her. The menu had an excellent selection. My husband had the scallops and I had the branzino, plus a pasta and vegetable selection. It was all delicious but too salty for me; the branzino was so salty I could barely eat it. In the future I will ask for no added salt to my food. What’s happened to the restaurants where salt and pepper was put at the table and one seasoned it to one’s own taste?

A lot of the food was very well done. The pastas were a highlight. Service was a little less organized—waited quite a while to have our order taken, but then they tried to clear our plates a few times pretty soon after they’d been dropped

We loved the atmosphere and food. The service was spotty at best. Our server never asked if we liked any of our dishes and we had to flag her down to order more drinks.
