What’s in the name you ask? We don’t really know, other than the fact that it has a good ring to it.

Nothing really about this place makes much sense. Are we a butcher shop or a restaurant? Are we a butcher shop inside of a restaurant? Or a restaurant inside of a butcher shop?

In our spare time we like to build fires and cook food over wood, you can hire us to do that. We make all of our own charcuterie in house, and we’re determined to get better at that everyday.

How do two concepts operate together in harmony? We don’t really know yet, but we will work at it ‘til it’s seamless. One thing we do know, all of the meat served and sold between these four walls is strictly derived from whole animals butchered in-house, sourced from happy places.

The unique, layered flavours exceed expectations every time. The Chef and crew out did themselves tonight. Ingredients that I may otherwise shy away from come together under the expertise of owners/chefs, sous-chef Gareth Burkholder and staff. Tonight’s favourite come from the Raw bar including BC muscles. Southern Ontario specialties are prepared and elevated with expertise, flavours knocking it out of the park!

It was fairly expensive for what it was. T he kitchen looked disorderly and chaotic which was probably why our order took 1.5 hrs to come out. When the food did arrive, the meat, which was ordered Medium, was poorly cooked. It was overcooked on the outside while rare in the middle, not what you want for a $100 piece of meat. The best item we had was the squash which had a bit of everything in terms of flavor and texture.

An oasis of flavour in the middle of downtown St. Catherine's! Lovely spot with amazing food. We had the pork cutlet and the squash, both fantastic. Great wine list as well!

The food was delicious, unfortunately not all items on the menu were available. The website should either be maintained with up to date menus (preferred) or noted as sample menu. The waitress was polite and helpful when we arrived but did disappear and didn’t really follow up much. There was also a fairly long gap between 1st and second courses. Conversation was flowing so it was fine, but it did seem stilted in the flow of the meal. A few more wines by the glass would be nice for choice considering the extensive by the bottle options. Flavours were well balanced and complex. It was perfectly cooked and portion sizes were good for the cost.

It was my boyfriend and Is 3rd time dining and it was again outstanding! Our server, Jessie was wonderful and attentive with what we wanted and kept us happy throughout our entire dining experience. It truly is the greatest, and most unique place!

Small dinning area, service was mediocre at best. Rushed us out near the end while trying to finish’s our coffee and desert. Coffee was served first before desert even came. No raw sugar in an upscale restaurant is a shame. Also no espresso only drip coffee.

Absolutely wonderful time at the Fat Rabbit! It was a joy to see the care and artistry with which the chefs handled their ingredients. A place for anyone who appreciates farm to table dining experience.

Excited to try the experience. Our server was excellent. Expected high cost, meat by the pound. Our steak cost $160, plus sides. Asked for take away, they removed the bone and the attached leftover meat, which we paid for when weighed. Noise level was extreme, music far too loud. Value not there to consider returning, major disappointment.
