As an elevated casual restaurant and cocktail space, Flores & Pine is Bearspaw’s new favourite location for a perfectly grilled steak, a ladies’ night out, or special spot for a milestone event. We were three ladies. When first arrived wanted to seat us in the bar area even though there was lots of room in main dining area. We were told the dining area was for reservations yes we had reservations and eventually seated in the dining area which was not full all evening, very puzzling. The appetizers were very tasty and good portions. Our main meal one person had the steak and two people had the fish pasta. The steak was dry and room temp, the sauce that came with in a little metal pitcher looked like it came from another table that was left over and the seafood pastas were not hot and not very tasty. Our server was fantastic personal and attentive. Do not think I would recommend to anyone and will not go back.

Went for NYE dinner. Atmosphere was great, loved the whole ambience. Service was very nice, but seemed a bit overwhelmed ( forgot to bring spoons for the sorbet, fill the water glasses, refill the wine etc). Might have been the challenge of that particular event. Food was very good, new takes on classic recipes, we were very pleased. Only the dessert (cardamom apples) was disappointing, didn’t quite get the right ratio of spices in our opinion. We’re global foodies, so probably our taste buds are spoiled. Anyway, despite the above, would go there again! Happy New Year!

We were initially excited about coming for NYE. We are a tall couple, I’m 6’1” and my husband is 6’10”, so the atrium seating at the round bench isn’t ideal for long legs. We were the only table in the atrium that had a server from another level. We felt forgotten and neglected by our server. The first two courses were delicious and the palette cleanser was nice but our mains got lost and we waited longer than we should have. Little things became annoyances, like not getting a knife with our salad, water refills, no pepper mill and then waiting for the bill. We’ve been coming here since it was the Bears Den and left feeling disappointed.
