Booked a dinner reservation here for the FULL Churasco experience for a birthday. Starting with the front staffs, we weren’t greeted upon entering the restaurant. They just looked at us and proceeded to look back at the tablet. Had to come up to them to greet and check my self in. We had a check in for 7:15 but went in about 40 minutes early because it was cold out and hoping we could get our table ready early. The lady told us it’ll be ready in a few minutes, they are setting up our table. We waited til a little over 7, but they haven’t called our name. I had to step up and ask if our table is ready and they said the same thing. This happened twice when I ate here btw. We ended up getting to our table past 7:30. Note: Don’t get there really early cause they will not accommodate you until your booking time. If you don’t want to wait more than an hour for your table like my group did, get there on the time of your booking and wait about half an hour. Food was alright. Majority of us liked the market table. I’m not sure how many types of meat they serve here but there were little staffs going around with the meats to our table even though we had our table card on green the whole time. We basically tried 4 meats only. Most of the meats served to us were medium rare and medium. Note: For first timers, you can ask them to cook your meat to your liking if you don’t prefer what they serve you. Ambiance was good. Tables were pretty much squeezed in. Customer service was good. Our server Cass came up to us a couple times to know how we’re doing and refilled our drinks. The server knew about serving us a complimentary birthday dessert til the end of our meal since we got to our table but ended up not giving it to us. Might try going back here during lunch on the weekdays since it’s $18 per person but I don’t think it’s worth $67 for dinner for the same experience.

Fogo is lovely but tonight was missing. The service was very slow. We had to get our own fresh plates from the bar for the meat. The restaurant was very busy which is great, but that made for slow service for meats. We asked for one cut from the first time we sat and got it offered at the end of our meal after asking 3 more times. The cuts were good. They forgot our sauces which had also been requested at the start. Not the service we are used to from our past experiences at Fogo, but we all have off days! I’m sure next time will be better again! They did offer a birthday desert which was very considerate! Thanks, Fogo!

Well they were late by 25-30 minutes in honoring reservations which is not good. They then had to reseat us but gave us a free app to compensate ( i had to ask). It wasn’t really clear what meat was circulating; i had expected pork meat and lamb but that wasn’t offered. If you’re OCD some of the chairs were torn. Some of the salad bar dishes were never replenished and the handles were sticky. Many of the servers did seem quite conscientious.

This visit to Fogo was for a special "wine and wagyuu" event, which I expected would be in one of the private dining spaces. Instead, customers for that event were seated throughout the regular dining room, to the apparent confusion of the serving staff. I ended up cooling my heels in the bar for around 20 minutes past the listed start date -- literally, as they have only a single-layer door to the outside and every time it opened icy drafts blasted everyone in the vicinity. The actual wines and meats were fine, though the best items were carvings from the regular menu and a chardonnay not officially part of the event lineup. Based on previous special events at this establishment, I can only surmise that some kind of scheduling snafu undermined their accommodation plans. At least the event price was quite modest.

I decided to stop in for lunch at Fogo in Portland on a business trip. The food was wonderful. However I was very disappointed that I was ignored on multiple occasions by 2 male waiters. I was seated in the middle of the restaurant near the waiter stand. There were 2 servers in rotation and on multiple occasions the male server passed my table without acknowledging my green coaster. Towards the end of my experience apparently my waitress went on break, there was a tall young waiter that came to the dinning area to check on guests. He looked at my table as he approached and never said anything. He passed my table and asked the table next to me as well as behind me if they needed anything. He then made a turn, looked at my table again and went across the room to ask if another guest needed anything.
