This was my fourth time at this location. Today, we didn’t know who our server was. We were never offered a beverage other than water and we were never offered dessert. After we were done eating, we sat there for quite a while before someone asked us if we wanted our check. The guy who asked us if we wanted our check had never been to our table the entire time we were there. The servers who brought the meat were great! Other than that, it was a disappointing experience.

Food was amazing as always. There was confusion on who was serving our table at the start which caused a long wait between ordering drinks and taking away dirty plates. That changed about half way through. We also noticed that they were missing our corner with the meat rotation. We pointed it out to one of the meat servers, Pedro, and he made sure that changed. Pedro was so enjoyable and even followed up asking if more meat started coming to our side when he didn’t have to. We will be back :)

Amazing never ending flow of beef, pork, lamb, and chicken served many different ways. Would recommend to anyone hungry.

I wasn’t really impressed with the seating because I had specifically requested a more intimate setting for my partner and I as we were celebrating our birthdays and we felt like we were right in the middle of other parties both to our left and right and behind. So bummed out they didn’t take that booking information into consideration otherwise everything else was great.

We had a reservation for 6pm and didn’t get seated until 6:30pm which made us almost late to our next activity. Food was amazing as usual. They did give us the bill with 2 desserts on there that we never ordered so thankfully we caught that.

As a General Partner in a private equity fund, I often find myself hosting meals with investors and colleagues in cities around the globe. These gatherings are an opportunity not just to connect but to showcase the finest culinary experiences each locale has to offer. On a recent evening in Portland, I chose Fogo de Chão for a dinner with Fund LPs visiting from abroad, in the hopes of recreating the camaraderie we shared during a traditional asado in Buenos Aires. Unfortunately, this decision proved underwhelming. Fogo de Chão, a Brazilian steakhouse with an upscale reputation, has historically been a reliable choice for meat enthusiasts. My last visit to their Houston location left me with fond memories of flavorful cuts and attentive service. However, this experience was markedly different, and the disparity between expectation and reality was hard to ignore. The meal began with promise—the ambiance was pleasant, and the staff were courteous—but the central element of any churrascaria, the meat, fell far short of the standard. The bottom sirloin was dry, its texture coarse rather than tender. Filet cuts, expected to be the highlight of the meal, were disappointingly sinewy and lacked the richness one anticipates at this price point. Across the board, the seasoning and flavor of the meats were forgettable—more indicative of a generic chain experience than the refined culinary expertise one might hope for in a restaurant charging $70 per person. While Fogo de Chão remains a respectable choice for families seeking a convivial night out, it does not align with Portland’s vibrant culinary scene, known for its abundance of exceptional, locally-driven steakhouses and dining establishments. For a city renowned for innovation and excellence in food, this experience felt uninspired and decidedly average. Hosting LPs at such a facility left me regretting the choice. In hindsight, a more discerning selection would have better reflected Portland's gastronomic strengths.
