We had a delightful brunch before the theater and definitely try the chocolate chip cookie plate for dessert, delicious!!!

Singers were fantastic and absolutely loved the atmosphere but the food was terrible, cold, fatty and slimy.

Prior to this place opening as Friedman‘s it used to be a cozy friendly place to meet friends before theater. Not expecting exactly that but hoping for something similar. I was deeply disappointed to find this place not only charges $24 for a grilled cheese sandwich and the prices in general were just way over inflated. Apparently, they recently started having their wait staff sing, which I must say — tmoffered some really amazing voices and talent. However, it was extremely loud and the people sitting where they were singing, we’re all screaming loudly and cheering, and it was charged for my friend and I to have time to catch up with each other before seeing a show. I wish they would bring the old Edison Café back. Run, don’t walk… AWAY from this place unless you like overpriced food in a loud atmosphere!

Pass the salt and the earplugs?! Since when did Friedman’s pivot to waite staff singing Broadway songs at the top of their lungs during dinner hours? I work in the nabe and go there often. Really like their upscale, retro cool vibe but I dined before a show tonight and couldn’t hear myself think, order, or talk with my dinner guest. The volume of the music and singers was beyond loud. Way too many songs were sung —and they passed the hat around for tips?! Yikes! I’m afraid to find out what lunch is like! Unfortunately, Friedman’s dropped a few rungs on my dining experience ladder so doubtful I’ll be back anytime soon. When I want that kind of cheesy, OTT atmosphere, Ellen’s Stardust Diner is just a few blocks north, which is great fun when the mood strikes.

We were there at 5pm for dinner. Amplified volume of roving server/singers was almost deafening. Definitely too loud for comfort or table conversation. Okay food, but overpriced. Server was pleasant but inattentive, other than taking our order, we had to flag him down for everything. We will not return. Have found several really good restaurants for dinner near Times Square theatre district.

Great gluten free restaurant in midtown. Omelet was great and ginger salmon with spinach and mashed potatoes-delish. Fried chicken thigh sandwich excellent. Don’t forget the carrot cake-you’d never know it was GF. Thank you for such delicious food. Also wonderful entertainment by their very talented “Singing Servers” - like a surprise broadway musical show. Fun!
