Speak easy vibes set the feel of this old school Chicago tavern. Mix in live music Thursday through Saturday and your environment is cool and complete for a great dining experience. Think Supper Club. Dinner at the bar is also an option with the full menu available. Ribs, Steaks and Seafood front the fare along with fantastic sides and soups. Don't sleep on the Burgers... served with fresh cut fries. The Baby Back Ribs take top billing and you can pair them with your choice of seafood including fried shrimp, steamed crablegs or half a chicken. Quality and consistency in both food and service are worthy of your dining dollar. A recent make over of our side room has inspired Club 45. A perfect private room with a mix of seating arangements for lunch, brunch or dinner affairs. Let us host your next gathering of 20 to 50 guests. We were immediately seated and the wait staff was by our table minutes later. We ordered a couple glasses of the house Malbec, which was very good. My wife had the half slab of ribs and jambalaya and I had the London broil. The salads were large and had a good mix of greens. Her meal was excellent, mine was very good. For dessert we had the bread pudding which was delicious. The wait staff was attentive and quick. Love having this place in the neighborhood.

Amazing atmosphere with relaxed music and candle lit tables for an amazing date night out. The staff are attentive and polite. The food was fantastic and presentation was impeccable.

Service was very slow and too many mistakes were made on our orders. Food came out cold. It had been years since we were all at the Gale St., Inn as it was one of my mother’s favorite restaurants. She used to go there all the time with her husband for crab legs, and ribs. Her crab legs came out cold my brother ordered steak and lobster and ended up with steak and crab legs He had to wait an extra 10 to 15 minutes for the lobster and even that came out cold and not fully cooked.My girlfriend and I traveled from Plainfield to be there definitely not worth the 1 hour drive. We were going to celebrate my mother‘s birthday and just decided to pass on the dessert and we left. The only consolation was they did take the crab legs $113 off the bill. We will not go back.

Had a wonderful dinner there, but I've never been disappointed. I do think they need to tone the music down a bit, as it was hard to hear my dinner companion, but that's the only complaint I have.

Fantastic experience, as usual. I marked the noise level high, but only because they had fantastic live music for Mardi Gras, so it was most appropriate.

Terrific food, service. Best restaurant on the north side. Truly a gem. Staff is always so welcoming. Feels like you are family.

Normally closed on Tuesday’s, the Gayle Street Inn opened tonight in order to celebrate Mardi Gras. With Music, Ambience and a special menu for the night. It was TERRIFIC!! It has been well over 20 years since I have been here but my husband and I will be back. The special menu was delicious and adding on the half slab of ribs gave us great pleasure. It was well worth the drive.

The food was mixed. The ribs were, as always, very tender and delicious. Unfortunately, the Shrimp with the Rib and Shrimp combo was over cooked and tough, as were the French fries. Been going to Gale Street since the 1980’s and have seen it go through its many changes ;it has always been a wonderful place with great food at reasonable prices.
