   I chose the duck salad, a £17 main course (apparently). It was more like a starter size. Not a lot of duck and a pile of crispy noodles on top that added nothing to the dish. I had to ask for a side plate to dispose of them so that I could eat the rest of the dish, and also a side order of chips so I might actually feel like I had eaten something. I did tell the waiter I was disappointed with the meal. He apologised but that was it. When the bill came I suggested they take off the chips as I only needed them because the meal portion was so small. They did. I'm not going to be rushing back unfortunately.

   Visited for lunch on the first day of a new menu. Haven’t been to The George since it changed management; very impressed by what has been achieved. Food & staff were excellent; we shall be going again, hopefully soon.

   Very enjoyable meal . I had put it was my husband’s birthday and they gave him a small present which was lovely . Food delicious.

   Lovely warm welcome by the owner. We had the venison pie which was delicious with a generous serving of rich gravy. Nice ambience in the restaurant and friendly staff. Highly recommend.

   Food was excellent and they catered well for gluten free Nice touch at the end was a candle on my pudding for my birthday and a bunch of flowers which was very much appreciated Waiters and waitresses were friendly polite and efficient

   Very enjoyable lunch with friends at The George today. Good selection of food choices and the ambience was lovely. It was busy so a little on the noisy side but this was to be expected and the staff were very accomodating. We all went for the set lunch menu at £13.50 (main meal and drink) which was great value for money. Food, drink and service were all excellent.
