Glass Brasserie is an eloquent, lofty restaurant and wine bar with panoramic views overlooking Sydney's historic Queen Victoria Building. Under the culinary guidance of critically acclaimed restaurateur and chef Luke Mangan, head chef Natalie Murphy dreams up honest, simple culinary experiences that celebrate the finest seasonal produce in imbued flavour.

The brasserie-style menu is designed to take guests on a journey, losing themselves in the enclaves of the restaurant's ambiance, flavours and character. Glass boasts one of Sydney's most comprehensive wine lists, curated by Head Sommelier, Mauro Bortolato for almost two decades. The 3,500 strong collection is encased in a striking wine wall that spans floor to ceiling through the space. Designed by renowned interior designer, Tony Chi, the restaurant's interior exudes equal party's intimacy and grandeur with it's ambient open-plan kitchen and expansive day-to-night dining experiences.

    My partner and I don’t often enjoy date nights out, so when we do, we prefer a quiet, somewhat private atmosphere. When I made the reservation, I mentioned that it was a date night, which I thought would prompt the staff to seat us in a more suitable area. However, we ended up right next to the kitchen, where the sous chef was loud throughout the evening, continuously announcing orders. The server was attentive but seemed unsure about timing, which made the service feel a bit overzealous. Every time we tried to engage in conversation, we were interrupted. On a positive note, the food was tasty and beautifully presented, and the wine selection was exceptional; I appreciated the assistance in choosing something that suited my palate. The restaurant was relatively quiet that night, with plenty of seating available in more tranquil sections. Would we return? No.

    The steak ordered was for Med/Rare. It arrived at Well Done! Your wait staff was attentive and offered to replace one. I declined. They served us complimentary coffee instead, which we accepted. Goodwill does exist!

    Great idea for an express lunch, we had the $39 lunch special main meal and dessert. It was for my sisters birthday and they even wrote happy birthday on her plate. Staff were very friendly and attentive.

    First night out in Sydney, discovered this gem within walking distance of our hotel (Darling Harbour area). Lovely ambience, we had a table next to the window , super view of surrounding beautiful buildings, in particular the Queen Victoria one. Excellent quality food, plenty of choice of wines , the service was top class. We felt well looked after, were given good explanations and advice on what to eat and drink. You will not be disappointed. Expect to pay for the location, food and service!
