After the phenomenal success of Chinatown's Viet Food, the founder Chef Jeff Tan opens his flagship, modern fusion Vietnamese restaurant with casual dining, Go Viet in South Kensington.
With its comfortable booth seating, low hanging Asian style lamps, terracotta colour scheme and backlit tortoiseshell wall panels, it is sleek, contemporary and minimalist. From the moment you walk in there is a feeling of warmth and peacefulness.
GO-Viet menu created by Chef Tan and Chef Huang with Chef Jeff’s concept of combines the finest quality Vietnamese ingredients with Western cooking style, injecting healthy elements to Vietnamese cuisine and gives it a modern twist. Would have given 5 stars on all but let down on coffee order. We asked for 2 black Vietnamese coffees (not from the menu, just asked when they bought us desert menu) When they brought them, it was a cold milky sweet chocolatey drink. We obviously queried and they said that was Vietnamese coffee and they didn't do normal hot coffee. They obviously weren't going to take them back so we drank them but didn't enjoy. Two things, we specifically said 'black' coffee so it was obvious we had misunderstood and they should have mentioned at that point, secondly we actually went to Vietnam a couple of years ago and drank plenty of normal black coffee bought back a bag of ground coffee from a specialised shop which was labeled Vietnamese coffee - so clearly it does exist in that form! It was just a bit disappointing as would have hoped they would have apologised and/or taken them off the bill. (There were 4 of us and we must have spent around £200) and for such a small aspect it just literally left a bad taste on the whole experience!

Quick and pleasant service with a nice ambience. The portions were fairly sized and well made.

Absolutely delicious, food was amazing, service and restaurant in general also fab - we had tapas but will definitely go back for the restaurant signature dish. Highly recommend a visit.
